Position Summary We are seeking a Weight Control & Material Take-Off (MTO) Engineer to support major engineering and construction projects through accurate quantity management, weight tracking, and reporting activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring material quantities, structural weights, and project metrics while developing efficient reporting tools and ensuring data integrity throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Perform Material Take-Off (MTO) activities from engineering, fabrication, and construction drawings. Develop and maintain project weight control databases and tracking systems. Monitor and report structural, piping, mechanical, and equipment weights throughout project execution. Analyze engineering data and generate weight control reports to support project management and procurement activities. Reconcile estimated, budgeted, and actual quantities and weights. Create, maintain, and improve Excel-based tools for quantity and weight management. Develop automation solutions using VBA and Python to improve reporting efficiency and data quality. Prepare dashboards and performance reports using Power BI. Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and project control teams. Ensure consistency, traceability, and accuracy of quantity and weight data across all project phases. Support project forecasting, change management, and progress tracking activities. Required Qualifications Degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience reading and interpreting engineering, fabrication, and construction drawings. Understanding of Material Take-Off (MTO) processes and weight control methodologies. Strong analytical skills with a genuine interest in data management and reporting. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Working knowledge of VBA. Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation. Ability to manage large datasets with accuracy and attention to detail. Strong organizational and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Power BI for dashboard creation and project reporting. Previous experience in EPC, oil & gas, energy, infrastructure, industrial, or offshore projects. Familiarity with quantity tracking, weight management systems, and engineering databases. Knowledge of project controls and cost reporting processes.
