We are seeking an experienced Head of Lifting – Projects to serve as the focal point for all lifting discipline activities across major Oil & Gas project portfolios. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, governance, and assurance to project teams, ensuring lifting operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with company standards and international regulations. Key Responsibilities Act as the subject matter expert and primary focal point for the lifting discipline across all project execution phases. Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on lifting operations, safety requirements, and industry best practices. Review and assess critical and complex lifting operations, ensuring appropriate safeguards and risk mitigation measures are implemented. Establish, maintain, and continuously improve lifting assurance and compliance processes across projects. Review, consolidate, and update lifting standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure alignment with corporate and international requirements. Lead investigations of high-potential (HiPo) lifting incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and drive the implementation and closure of corrective actions. Monitor compliance with lifting regulations, company standards, and project-specific requirements. Serve as the key interface between project teams and Operations Lifting Departments, particularly for brownfield project activities. Promote a strong safety culture and ensure continuous improvement in lifting operations performance. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline. OPITO LOLER Competent Person certification is mandatory. Minimum 10 years of experience in major Oil & Gas projects, including construction, installation, fabrication, hook-up, commissioning, or project execution activities. At least 2 years of supervisory, leadership, or contractor oversight experience. Extensive hands-on experience with lifting equipment inspections, certifications, verifications, and lifting operations management. Demonstrated expertise in critical lifting operations, heavy lifting activities, and lifting risk management. Strong knowledge of international lifting standards and regulations, including API, ASME, DNV, ISO, BS, and LOLER. Proven experience in developing and managing lifting compliance, assurance, and governance programs. Experience leading incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action programs. Preferred Experience Previous experience as a Lifting Technical Authority, Lifting SME, Head of Lifting, Corporate Lifting Advisor, or Senior Lifting Specialist within an Oil & Gas Operator organization. Experience supporting large-scale brownfield projects and interfacing with Operations teams. Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
