Contracts Lead Job Purpose Lead role in the hands on post award contract management activities related to managing a multibillion EPCC contract and contributing to the safe project delivery on time and on budget. Job Context & Major Challenges Major challenges include: Oversight of a large volume of critical contracts. Providing strategy and direction on complex contractual situations. Staying abreast of dynamic market conditions. Large interface across many departments within the area of responsibility. Additional challenges and requirements include: Mega LNG Capital Project execution in a dynamic environment. Operates in a multicultural, multinational environment, which requires professional conduct and proper office protocol. Works often under significant time pressure. Negotiate with multiple parties for the benefit of the company. Drive or contribute to the implementation of best in class contract and project execution industry standards. Key Job Accountabilities Responsible for undertaking hands on Commercial and Contracting activities related to all aspects of post award contract management of the EPCC contract. Support delivery of actions within the Value Protection plan and manage contractual correspondence and changes in line with approved processes to deliver best value for company and shareholders. Identify contractual risks and advise on mitigation strategies. Contribute to regular commercial and contract performance reports prepared for project leadership. Work with Performance & Delivery Claims team to ensure robust management of any claims and disputes that may arise as per company governance. Maintain close effective relationship with other Project Management Team (PMT) members and Functional Managers, Legal and Risk Management to obtain and provide information regarding contract issues and mitigation strategies. Coordinate preparation for contract evaluations and end of contract closeouts in accordance with relevant procedures. Able to work in a highly visible project environment with large capital expenditures and significant schedule execution pressures, as well as within a dynamic team that has high expectations for flawless project execution in safety, quality, cost and schedule performance, requiring the incumbent to demonstrate accuracy, initiative and the ability to multitask as essential skills. Minimum Requirements Qualifications Bachelor Degree in one of the following disciplines: Business Law Engineering Supply Chain Management Construction Management Quantity Surveying Knowledge & Experience 8 year’s experience in business related function or discipline. Including 4 years in the Oil & Gas Industry. Including 1 year experience in a supervisory or acting role, or oversight of contractor/subcontractors/service/vendor personnel. Experience in Lump Sum Major Energy Projects (postaward) in a similar position. Handson experience managing contractors, including: Drafting contractual correspondence. Management of change orders/variations. Providing timely contractual advice to the Project Management Team. Technical & Business Skills Strong influencing skills. Strong business and risk acumen. Legal and dispute claims resolution experience will be a plus. Capable of writing well documented commercial correspondence. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with team leadership qualities. Drive culture of continuous improvement balancing quick wins and overall strategic roadmap.
