Cost Controller – Join Our Finance Team in Perth Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for financial control and operational excellence? We are seeking a skilled Cost Controller to play a pivotal role in supporting our Operations teams through meticulous cost management and robust financial oversight. Based in our Perth office, this contract position runs through to 31/12/2026 and offers the chance to be integral to daily cost tracking, invoice verification, and supporting business planning for vendor management within a leading resource environment. As a Cost Controller, you will work closely with the Senior Cost Controller and a variety of internal stakeholders, ensuring cost accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across multiple discrete scopes of work. You will raise and close purchase requests/orders, verify invoices against contractual terms, manage WMS master data, track commitments, and contribute to continuous process improvements—all within a safety-first culture. Required Skills: Strong experience (5+ years) in cost control within Exploration & Production (E&P) or resources sector, supporting Operations and Finance functions. Proficient in SAP, including MM and WMS modules, with working knowledge of FI, PM, CO, and PS modules. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Power Query, capable of analysing complex datasets to generate clear, actionable insights. Solid understanding of general accounting principles, purchase-to-pay (P2P) workflows, and work scope planning. Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail. Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders. Nice to Have Skills: Previous direct experience in vendor business plan preparation and invoice claim dispute resolution. Experience managing WMS master data and cost settlement/account assignments. Familiarity with audit support in the context of financial and procurement compliance. Understanding of tax and accounting compliance specific to the resource sector. Preferred Education and Experience: Degree or diploma in Engineering, Maintenance, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline. Demonstrated ability to handle complex financial workflows within a large corporate or resource environment.
