Title: Senior Telecom Engineer Responsible for the design, specification and services related to communication systems, such as satellite, line of sight, fiber optic, phone, public address systems and the transmission of data from supervisory control and data acquisition system. Under general supervision, independently applies advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers and officials of other organizations. Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers and is consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on scientific interpretations and advice. Job role is responsible for a measurable asset such as an assigned staff and budget. Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of 10 years related experience, with average experience ranging from 10+ years. Job Responsibilities: Responsible for the delivery of the TSI/Telecoms Package. Support the Telecoms Lead Engineer in all other Telecoms activities. Develop Telecoms Systems Specifications, TSI Scope of Work, and Bill of Materials. Prepare Telecoms systems block diagram sketches. Review telecoms systems studies such as PAGA coverage study, radio coverage study, VSAT link calculation, fiber optic link budget, etc. Prepare requisition and perform technical bid evaluation of Telecoms Systems. Perform telecoms power consumption, heat dissipation, and weight estimation. Liaise with clients to resolve engineering comments and provide solutions. Coordinate with other disciplines and contractors on systems interfaces. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Telecommunications). Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in Telecoms Detailed Engineering in the Oil and Gas industry Knowledge of international regulations, codes, and standards affecting Telecoms Systems. Knowledge of Telecoms studies and calculations. Proficient in writing Telecoms specifications. Team player who can interact effectively with colleagues from other disciplines, clients, and suppliers.
