Candidates must be flexible to work either: Shift A (ASPAC/EU): 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM MYT, or Shift B (ASPAC/US): 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM MYT. About the Role The Category Strategy Support Lead – Assets plays a key role in supporting the development and execution of category strategies that drive value, mitigate risk, and optimise supplier performance across bp's Assets category portfolio. Working closely with Category Managers, business stakeholders, and suppliers, you will provide market intelligence, strategic insights, supplier performance support, and category enablement to help deliver procurement and business objectives. Key Responsibilities Support the development and execution of category strategies across the Assets portfolio, including market analysis, sourcing activities, demand planning, and value delivery initiatives. Develop high-quality presentations, reports, and strategic communications that support stakeholder engagement and informed decision-making. Lead and coordinate a category support team, ensuring work is prioritised effectively and aligned to business needs. Support supplier performance management through reviews, risk assessments, performance improvement plans, and issue resolution activities. Monitor category performance and KPI delivery, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and value creation. Drive standardisation of category management processes, sourcing tools, reporting, and governance practices. Manage and optimise procurement buying channels, including SAP Ariba content, ensuring compliance with contracts, pricing, and procurement policies. Essential Requirements Degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Minimum 6–8 years' experience in Indirect Procurement, Category Management, or Strategic Sourcing. Experience supporting category strategies within complex industrial, engineering, operations, asset-intensive, or infrastructure environments. Strong understanding of category management, supplier relationship management, contract management, spend analysis, and commercial value creation. Ability to interpret business requirements and market intelligence to support sourcing strategies and procurement decision-making. Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders to drive performance, manage risk, and deliver business outcomes. Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills. Experience leading teams or coordinating work within a matrix or project-based environment. Comfortable working in global, multicultural organisations and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Desirable CIPS qualification or working towards membership. Experience supporting Assets, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Industrial Services, or Technical Procurement categories. Experience with SAP Ariba, Salesforce, Compass, or similar procurement technologies. Strong digital fluency and ability to leverage technology to improve procurement outcomes. Experience working across international teams and managing remote stakeholder relationships.
