Job Summary The Subsea Equipment Junior Engineer supports the engineering, maintenance, testing, and performance of subsea equipment used in offshore oil and gas, renewable energy, and marine operations. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the role involves assisting with equipment design reviews, technical documentation, inspection activities, troubleshooting, and project execution to ensure safe and efficient subsea operations.
Key Responsibilities
Support the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of subsea equipment and systems.
Assist in the preparation and review of technical documentation, drawings, procedures, and engineering reports.
Participate in equipment testing, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and offshore commissioning activities.
Monitor equipment performance and assist in identifying and resolving technical issues.
Support inspection, maintenance, and repair activities for subsea assets.
Ensure engineering activities comply with company standards, industry regulations, and HSE requirements.
Collaborate with project teams, suppliers, contractors, and offshore personnel.
Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation.
Assist in risk assessments, technical evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support project delivery by coordinating engineering tasks and meeting project schedules.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Offshore Engineering, or a related discipline.
0-3 years of engineering experience, preferably within the offshore, subsea, marine, or energy sector.
Internship or graduate experience in subsea or offshore engineering is advantageous.
Required Technical Skills and Abilities
Basic understanding of subsea production systems and equipment.
Knowledge of engineering principles, drawings, and technical specifications.
Familiarity with inspection, testing, and maintenance processes.
Ability to analyse technical data and prepare engineering reports.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Understanding of offshore health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Language Requirements
Fluent English (written and spoken).
Software / ERP Knowledge
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software is preferred.
Knowledge of SAP, Maximo, or other ERP/asset management systems is advantageous.
Experience with engineering document management systems is beneficial.
