About the role This position will be responsible for exploring and developing new business opportunities, managing the successful development of offers, building strong and effective relationships with appropriate partner/supplier contacts and project managing specific elements of strategic projects, whilst exercising a sound combination of commercial and technical rigor to help achieve BP's growth objectives. It'll also be accountable for driving financial performance for bp’s midstream infrastructure businesses owned and/or operated in the US, and managing bp exposure risks in NOJVs (Non-Operated Joint Ventures). Key Responsibilities Accountable for business performance through an understanding of revenues, TCC (Total Cash Costs) and capital, and their impacts on RCOP and cash flow, ensuring solutions improve integrated value. Primary collaborate with partners in joint ventures (both bp-operated and non-operated), including roles as a JV liaison, JV board member, JV officer and/or board meeting facilitator. Responsible for revenue generation and optimization of the US midstream assets, including optimization projects – identify growth opportunities, and lead commercial execution (ie negotiations and contracting). For bp-operated assets, work in partnership with Finance, Operations (bp Terminals & Pipelines in bp P&O) and other functions for development of an annual plan, as well as monitoring performance against the plan, ensuring forecasts are appropriately reflected via the GFO process. For JVs not operated by bp, use bp’s governance rights to influence the JV to enhance commercial performance and management of bp’s exposure risks within the JV. Serve as an Asset Manager per bp’s Joint Venture Management Policy (JVMP), including, among other activities, maintaining a bp’s NOJV Posture position, maintaining and delivering an Influencing Plan and monitoring delivery of the Exposure Management Plan (for more information, see the Asset Manager role description on NOJV Solution intranet site). If serving as a JV Director, perform Director duties per bp’s JVMP (for more information, see the JV Director role description on NOJV Solution intranet site). Understand asset operations (including capacity utilization) to provide commentary in support of management information reporting. Key Interface to resolve commercial issues with affiliates, partners, shippers, or other third parties. Expert on the business contracts (eg joint venture governance, operating, transportation, volume commitment and connection agreements); ensure contract requirements are being followed and/or identify optimization of bp’s interest. Essential education, experience and requirements University degree (Business or Engineering Preferred) Seasoned relevant experience Understanding of the midstream business, including midstream’s value to crude supply, product supply, sales & marketing, refining and trading strongly desired. Handling relationships, including influencing across many levels of an organization Deep understanding of midstream value creation Understanding of integrated value and how to evaluate impacts to each along the value chain Financial savvy, including understanding drivers for EBITDA and cash flow. Ability to develop, interpret and optimize commercial contract concepts. Ability to interpret data to drive effective and creative business decisions. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build relationships at all levels and across multiple businesses and geographies. Strong negotiating and influencing skills. Ability to lead and influence a team when the team members do not have a direct reporting relationship. Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and under time pressure Familiarity with bp’s CVP, PCP and EEM processes Fluent in English How much do we pay (Base)? $160,000 - $228,000 *Note that the pay range listed for this position is a genuinely expected and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting. This position is eligible for US Benefits – Core. This position offers paid vacation depending on your years of relevant industry experience and will range from 120 – 240 hours of vacation per year for full time employees.
