Oilfield Maintenance Electrician Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Oilfield Maintenance Electrician to perform electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and equipment replacements in a field environment.
This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of electrical and control systems, including:
Motors
Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
Contactors
Motor starters
Relays and overloads
Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
Electrical panels and disconnects
Transformers
Generators
Air compressors
Pumps
Vapor Recovery Units (VRUs)
Lease Automatic Custody Transfer (LACT) units
Saltwater Disposal (SWD) facilities
Facility lighting
Heat trace systems
Associated control circuits
The position will also support medium-voltage equipment associated with Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) and gas lift operations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on oilfield production and facility equipment.
Read and interpret electrical prints, one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation.
Troubleshoot and repair motors, VFDs, control circuits, contactors, relays, overloads, MCCs, and production equipment.
Use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment, including multimeters and megohmmeters.
Troubleshoot 4-20 mA control circuits, PLC-related field signals, and associated field wiring.
Replace motors, VFDs, and other electrical components as needed.
Assist with equipment startups, commissioning activities, and operational support.
Respond to electrical callouts and emergency maintenance issues as required.
Replace pole-mounted fuses using a hot stick when necessary.
Support medium-voltage equipment associated with ESP and gas lift systems.
Maintain compliance with all company safety procedures and industry best practices.
Documentation & Reporting Accurate documentation is a critical component of this role. Responsibilities include:
Using SAP to manage maintenance activities.
Creating, updating, and closing work orders.
Documenting completed maintenance and repair activities.
Clearly communicating equipment issues, repairs performed, and recommended follow-up actions.
Completing all required paperwork, system updates, and maintenance records in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
Previous oilfield electrical experience required.
Strong troubleshooting experience with:
Motors
VFDs
Contactors
Motor starters
Relays and overloads
Motor control systems
Oilfield production equipment
Experience working on electrical systems up to 480V.
Experience with or familiarity working around medium-voltage equipment.
Ability to read and interpret:
Electrical one-line diagrams
Schematics
Wiring diagrams
Equipment documentation
Ability to use multimeters, megohmmeters, and other electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical control circuits, 4-20 mA instrumentation loops, PLC-related field signals, and associated field wiring.
Preferred Qualifications
Texas Journeyman Electrician License preferred.
Candidates who are not currently licensed must be willing and eligible to obtain a Texas Journeyman Electrician License within one year of hire.

Physical Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, wind, and other field conditions.
Ability to climb ladders and work from elevated locations.
Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and electrical components.
Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and work in confined or restricted spaces.
Ability to travel between field locations during the scheduled rotation.
Administrative Requirements
Complete SAP entries, work-order updates, work-order closures, and all other required documentation accurately and on time.
Maintain effective communication regarding equipment status, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Schedule & Location
7 days on / 7 days off rotational schedule
Preference for employees to stay at the Mentone mancamp during their scheduled work rotation.
Must be available to respond to after-hours callouts and emergency electrical issues during the scheduled 7-day rotation.
