Western Australia, Australia Job Family Group: Maintenance, Reliability and Turnarounds Worker Type: Regular Posting Start Date: August 4, 2026 Business Unit: Integrated Gas Experience Level: Experienced Professionals Job Description: About the Role As a Maintenance Trainer Assessor, you will play a key role in developing and assuring the capability of our maintenance workforce across both employees and contractor populations. You will be responsible for delivering competency assurance programs, conducting training and assessments, and supporting the ongoing development of Maintenance Technicians to meet operational, safety, and business requirements. Working closely with maintenance, operations, and contractor teams, you will help drive a culture of continuous learning and high performance through effective training delivery, competency assessment, and capability development aligned with the Prelude Crux Competence Framework. Accountabilities: Assure workforce competence through structured assessment, verification, auditing and tracking processes. Perform the certified Front Line Barrier Management (FLBM) Trainer Assessor role and Internal Verifier role in line with approved standards and governance requirements. ] Deliver training sessions, workshops and other learning interventions for individuals and teams through both face-to-face and virtual formats. Maintain effective feedback mechanisms to continuously improve training quality, relevance and learner experience. Identify training needs and capability gaps through experience, observation and gap analysis, and develop targeted individual training plans to address them. Support Contract Management Teams throughout the contract lifecycle, including the identification of training needs and assurance of contractor competence. Support the Offshore Assessor team by promoting consistent assessment practices and work processes across shifts. Engage internal and external stakeholders to ensure learning pathways align with Maintenance Technician competence requirements and business needs. Continuously improve training and assessment materials by incorporating local and global lessons learned and ensuring content remains current, practical and fit for purpose. Required Experience & Qualifications: Technical Significant direct experience in the maintenance of an LNG, gas processing, complex hydrocarbon facility, or similar experience gained on a Major Hazards Facility. Offshore experience is preferred but not essential. Current Trade Qualification in a trade discipline (I&E or Mechanical) Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (eg TAE40122). Demonstrated ability to design and deliver face-to-face and on-the-job training that supports competence development in an operational environment. Demonstrated ability to use approved workplace assessment tools to objectively gather evidence and determine competence. Leadership Adaptable and able to respond effectively to changing priorities and operational requirements. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholder groups. Proven capability to coach, mentor, and support others, fostering capability development and continuous learning. Able to identify process gaps and implement practical solutions that deliver sustained improvement. Demonstrates a strong commitment to Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) principles, promoting safe work practices, operational excellence, and a positive safety culture. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. While the position is primarily onshore based, some offshore time will be required to support coaching, performance improvement, process compliance and assurance of effectiveness.
