This role is responsible for developing and executing commercial and supply strategies for chemicals, catalysts, and/or industrial gases in support of business objectives. The successful candidate will bring strong technical and commercial acumen, downstream oil and gas experience, and the ability to translate market insights, supplier input, customer needs, and business priorities into actionable strategies that deliver reliable supply, competitive value, and leading performance. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement sourcing, commercial, and market strategies aligned with business plans and operational priorities. Assess market opportunities, threats, supplier capabilities, cost drivers, and competitive dynamics to support sound business decisions. Provide commercial guidance to business partners and support benchmarking activities to improve performance and value delivery. Lead cross-functional projects that require coordination across procurement, technical, operations, supply chain, commercial, and supplier organizations. Build and maintain complex strategic relationships with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, customers, and industry partners. Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen commercial outcomes, supplier performance, and Operational Excellence/Reliability, and operational execution. Required Qualifications and Experience Petrochemical or Refining supply chain or technical experience, Understanding of chemicals, catalysts, industrial gas markets, or related technical supply chains. Ability to apply technical understanding to commercial decisions. Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to evaluate market conditions, develop strategies, and build sound business cases. Experience conducting market analysis, supplier assessments, benchmarking, opportunity evaluations, and risk assessments. Demonstrated ability to integrate input from customers, suppliers, technical experts, and business partners into practical plans. Proven ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, and deliver results through cross-functional collaboration. Preferred Experience Experience supporting sourcing, supplier management, procurement, commercial negotiations, or category strategy in a technical industrial environment. Experience working with strategic suppliers, customers, and cross-functional business partners across multiple functions or regions. Leadership and Behavioral Expectations Build trust by developing and maintaining strategic relationships across internal and external networks. Create an environment where open discussion, constructive challenge, and timely escalation occur without hesitation. Reinforce safe work practices, procedure compliance, hazard awareness, and supplier accountability. Demonstrate sound judgment, ownership, accountability, and alignment with business priorities. Communicate clearly with technical, commercial, operational, and leadership audiences. Relocation Options: Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
