We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the execution of the 500/230 kV GIS Substation Project for EGAT, Thailand.
The incumbent will be responsible for end-to-end project management from post-award stage to final handover, ensuring delivery in line with contractual scope, safety, quality, cost, and schedule commitments.
The role demands strong leadership in EHV GIS Substation Projects (220 kV and above), with proven experience in managing multinational teams, client coordination with utilities, subcontractor management, commercial control, and statutory compliance in an international project environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Delivery
• Manage the complete project lifecycle from post-award mobilization to commissioning and final handover.
• Lead execution of 500/230 kV GIS Substation works in compliance with approved engineering drawings, specifications, and EGAT requirements.
• Ensure timely completion of project milestones as per the approved baseline schedule.
Planning, Cost & Resource Management
• Prepare and control project execution plans, detailed schedules, manpower plans, and resource deployment strategies.
• Manage project budgets, cost forecasts, cash flow, and cost-to-complete analysis.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation plans to avoid schedule or cost overruns.
Client & Stakeholder Management
• Act as the single point of contact with EGAT for all contractual, technical, and execution-related matters.
• Lead project review meetings, progress presentations, and coordination discussions with the client and consultants.
• Handle scope clarifications, contractual correspondence, and approvals smoothly and proactively.
Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination
• Manage and monitor subcontractors for civil, erection, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely manufacturing, inspection, dispatch, and site delivery of GIS equipment and materials.
• Address site-level commercial issues, local procurement, and invoice processing to support uninterrupted execution.
Commercial & Contract Management
• Monitor contractual obligations, payment milestones, and commercial performance.
• Prepare, submit, and negotiate variation orders / additional claims arising from scope changes, delays, or client instructions.
• Support timely realization of claims and final account settlement.
HSE, Quality & Compliance
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards, statutory regulations, and EGAT safety requirements.
• Implement robust quality control systems across engineering, construction, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation covering technical, contractual, HSE, and commercial aspects.
Reporting & Governance
• Provide regular progress reports to Head Office covering execution status, risks, costs, and key issues.
• Escalate critical matters related to schedule, safety, cost overruns, or stakeholder challenges in a timely manner.
• Support internal audits, management reviews, and project governance requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies
• Proven experience as Project Manager in EHV GIS Substation Projects (220 kV / 400 kV / 500 kV).
• Mandatory exposure to GIS and utility-scale substation projects.
• Strong understanding of international utility clients (EGAT or equivalent).
• Expertise in project planning, cost control, scheduling, and risk management.
• Solid knowledge of contract administration claims management, and commercial negotiations.
• Strong leadership and capability to manage multinational and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with execution in Southeast Asia / international EPC environments is preferred.
Must Have
• Qualification: BE / B. Tech in Electrical
• Min Total Experience: 15 Years
• Executed EHV GIS Substation Projects (220 kV / 400 kV / 500 kV) with EGAT as client.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in English and Thai Language ( Speaking , Reading and Writing)
