Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Business Engagement and Coordination
: Directs and delivers high-level health and medical support to CVX Americas businesses, functions, and partners as needed. Manages onsite medical resources and develops onsite medical support aligned with business needs and workforce requirements.
Health Service Management:
Oversees occupational health issues across the regional work environment. Ensures medical fitness standards are applied and enforced. Provides program content and specifications, including quality control procedures for company medical surveillance and fitness-for-duty programs. Manages significant disability cases, including high-profile, complex, and co-morbid cases in coordination with the Disability Management team and Employee Assistance Program advisors. Maintains appropriate consultation panels and resources for specialized examinations. Reviews reports and examinations for medical follow-up, job fitness, and return-to-work decisions. Supervises and manages the performance of direct-report clinical and administrative staff. Serves as custodian of regional medical records and provides direct medical services as needed.
Manages regional medical services
for area Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and facilities, including strategy development and issue identification. Ensures employees and dependents have access to appropriate medical and emergency services. Manages the Authorized Provider network and local contracted medical facilities as needed. Provides or arranges fee-for-service medical support for joint ventures when agreed. Conducts onsite evaluations of health facilities; manages medical evacuations, repatriations, and follow-up; and supports sourcing and shipment of medical equipment and supplies required by SBUs. Provides guidance on standard practices within company clinics and medical and legal supervision for independent-duty nurses when required by regulatory agencies. Collaborates with the Corporate EAP Manager to deliver regional Employee Assistance Program services and manages contracted vendors, including functional capacity evaluation testing facilities.
Quality Assurance:
Leads quality assurance for the Americas Health and Medical function, including external medical providers and networks. Identifies, trains, and develops senior medical leaders in a rapidly changing environment serving a diverse customer base.
Medical Quality Improvement
: Establishes and audits clinical, quality, and cost-control practices across SBU medical and provider networks. Develops e-training and professional development resources for SBU medical staff, implements shared best practices, and creates organization and staffing plans as needed. Recruits SBU medical staff when required and serves as a member of the global audit and governance team.
As a member of the corporate and regional H&M PDC,
supports recruiting and selection, competency and skill development, career planning, and succession planning for direct and indirect reports. Strengthens regional PDC governance in collaboration with BU leaders.
Recruits, develops, and trains the H&M staff and partners needed to meet business requirements and sustain business continuity. Builds and maintains a broad medical network to provide high-quality, 24/7 support for a dispersed, multicultural, and mobile workforce.
Required Qualifications:
US licensed Physician, board certified, occupational Health specialty
10- 15 years minimum related experience.
