Partner with the best As Senior Commercial Manager you will be responsible for leading the commercial development of strategic opportunities within the IET Industrial Power Generation business. The role owns the end-to-end proposal strategy, until the contract finalization, for complex and high-value projects, ensuring competitive, profitable, and customer-focused solutions. Working across sales, engineering, project execution, and finance teams, the successful candidate will drive bid strategy, commercial risk assessment, pricing governance, and proposal execution to maximize win rates and business profitability. This role is suited to a seasoned commercial professional looking to influence business growth through deal leadership rather than direct account ownership. In this role, you will be responsible for: Lead the preparation of commercial proposals for large and complex Power Systems opportunities coordinating multidisciplinary proposal teams.. Define bid strategies aligned with business objectives and market conditions. Coordinate inputs from engineering, product management, supply chain, and service teams. Ensure proposals are complete, compliant, competitive, and submitted on time. Support strategic pursuits from early engagement through contract award. Ensure compliance with customer requirements, contractual obligations, and internal governance processes. Drive proposal reviews, approvals, and executive presentations. Develop pricing strategies that balance competitiveness and profitability. Lead commercial risk analysis and mitigation planning as per internal risk governance processes and proposals preparation procedures. Assess contractual terms and negotiate commercial conditions. Ensure consistency in margins, assumptions, and commercial positioning. Act as the focal point between Sales, Application Engineers, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and Execution teams. Guide internal stakeholders in developing optimized customer solutions. Support transition from commercial phase to project execution. Establish best practices for bidding, tendering, and commercial governance. Mentor proposal managers and tendering specialists. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase proposal quality and win rates. Develop tools, templates, and performance metrics for commercial effectiveness. Fuel your passion To be successful in this role you will: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or related disciplines from an accredited college or university Minimum 15 years of experience in a project-oriented organization Solid technical and commercial background in the Industrial Energy industry developed in customer facing roles Highly networked and exposed role requiring ability to communicate and influence at senior leadership level Experienced with complex and multidisciplinary projects and able to integrate several different inputs EPC projects expertise Have knowledge of rotating equipment and solutions for the Industrial Energy industry Display the ability to take ownership, execute and shape results in a global-matrix organization Fluent English (spoken and written) Be willing to travel as business requires (estimated 30% of the time) Strong time management / prioritization skills Have proven capability to establish good relationships with customers and build trust. Have very good business acumen and customer centric attitude. Have a never-give-up attitude, problem solver, works independently. Preferred qualifications Experience in: Electrical distribution systems, and /or Grid modernization projects, and /or power quality solutions Working knowledge of Italian language would be an advantage.
