Senior Project Manager – Infrastructure & Offsites Location: Calgary, Alberta (supporting operations in Central Alberta) Employment Type: Full-Time About the Company Our client is a Canadian resource development company advancing innovative projects within Alberta's energy and mineral resource sector. The organization is focused on delivering large-scale infrastructure and processing facilities that support the safe, efficient, and sustainable development of critical resources. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and play a key leadership role in the development and execution of major capital projects. Position Summary The Senior Project Manager, Infrastructure & Offsites will lead the planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness of infrastructure systems supporting a central processing facility in Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the infrastructure and offsites scope, including utilities, site development, roads, buildings, ponds, power connections, well-pad development, and other supporting facilities. Acting as the owner's representative, this individual will oversee the project throughout its entire lifecycle while ensuring safe, cost-effective, and successful execution. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution Lead FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and readiness-for-operations activities for infrastructure and offsite facilities. Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and execution strategies. Develop and maintain project execution plans and key project milestones. Establish and monitor project performance indicators (KPIs). Forecast budgets, monitor expenditures, analyze variances, and manage financial performance. Evaluate and approve project changes while maintaining alignment with project objectives. Stakeholder & Contractor Management Serve as the primary liaison between the owner, engineering consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Coordinate interfaces among internal departments to ensure integrated project delivery. Manage EPC contractors through all project phases, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Lead and mentor multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers and project professionals. Technical & Regulatory Oversight Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Support permitting and regulatory submissions related to infrastructure development. Lead design reviews focusing on constructability, operability, reliability, and process safety. Manage relationships and interfaces with utility providers, including power, natural gas, water, and other services. Ensure infrastructure designs and installations meet operational and technical requirements. Construction & Commissioning Oversee construction execution and contractor performance in the field. Support commissioning and startup activities, including development of commissioning plans and execution support. Monitor project progress and provide regular reporting to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Safety & Continuous Improvement Champion a strong safety culture across all project activities. Promote safe work practices and ensure safety remains a core project value. Develop and implement project processes, procedures, and governance frameworks to support organizational growth and long-term success. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across project execution and project management practices. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a related discipline). Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and registration with APEGA in good standing. Experience 15+ years of project management experience in infrastructure projects within oil & gas, chemical processing, water treatment, mining, or related industries. Demonstrated success delivering complex capital projects from concept through construction and commissioning. Experience managing EPC contractors throughout FEED, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning phases. Experience managing infrastructure projects involving distributed work sites and multiple concurrent construction locations. Strong background in project controls, including cost management, scheduling, risk management, forecasting, and change management. Experience coordinating with utility providers and managing utility interfaces. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and external contractors. Experience managing fast-track projects requiring disciplined scope control and change management. Technical Knowledge Understanding of Alberta's regulatory environment for energy, power, and mineral resource development.
