We currently have an opportunity for a Principal Production Technologist Offshore role. This position is based in Oman. For further information about this position please apply. Minimum Requirements 18+ years of relevant production technology, production engineering, well performance or integrated production system experience, including at least 12 years in offshore, operated or complex production assets. Principal Discipline Leadership & Technical Assurance Act as the Principal Production Technology focal point, providing discipline leadership, technical assurance and independent challenge for production technology decisions. Production Surveillance & Performance Monitoring Own the well-by-well production surveillance framework, including rates, pressures, water cut, GOR/CGR behavior, drawdown, operating envelopes, production stability, allocation quality and abnormal well behavior. Integrated Production Optimization & Production System Modelling Lead integrated production modelling and nodal analysis to evaluate well deliverability, backpressure impact, compression/separator pressure effects, routing constraints, export limitations and facility bottlenecks. Artificial Lift, Well Performance & Production Enhancement Lead artificial lift screening, design assurance, performance monitoring and optimization, including gas lift and other lift methods where applicable to current or future developments. FDP, Appraisal & Exploration Development Readiness Provide Principal Production Technology input to FDP updates, field reviews, development concepts, production profiles, reserves support, well/completion concepts, facility interface requirements and development option ranking. Integrate production technology inputs with Reservoir Engineering, G&G, Wells, Facilities, Projects, Operations and Commercial teams to support robust development decisions. Reservoir-Well-Facility Integration Ensure alignment between reservoir behavior, well performance, completion design, artificial lift, flow assurance, pipelines, facilities and production operations. Ensure production recommendations respect well integrity, facility capacity, process safety, production handling limits, export constraints and offshore operating envelopes. Flow Assurance, Production Chemistry & Production Integrity Well Integrity, Process Safety & Operational Risk Provide production technology input to well integrity management, including review of annulus behavior, tubing/casing pressure trends, sand production, corrosion indicators, abnormal pressure behavior and operating-envelope compliance. Data, Digital Models & Reporting Define and steward data quality requirements for production data, well tests, allocation inputs, pressure data, surveillance databases and integrated production models. Offshore Operations, Contractors & HSSE Support Provide advanced troubleshooting support during production upsets, well start-up, shutdown, ramp-up, instability events, facility constraints and offshore operational reviews. Authority & Decision Making Recommend and technically endorse production optimization, artificial lift, well intervention, production constraint removal, operating envelope and deferment-reduction actions within the applicable governance framework. Key interactions Internal: Head of Subsurface, Reservoir Engineering, Geology & Geophysics, Well Engineering, Drilling, Completion/Intervention, Offshore Operations, Facilities/Process Engineering, Production Operations, Maintenance, Planning, Projects, Commercial, HSSE and Management. External: Joint Venture partners, regulators where required through the approved interface, contractors, service providers, technical consultants, production technology software/service vendors, intervention companies and flow assurance/production chemistry specialists. Education requirements Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline is required. Master's degree, professional accreditation, or advanced certification in Production Technology, Production Engineering, Well Performance, Flow Assurance, Well Integrity or Petroleum Engineering is strongly preferred. Competencies and Skills Knowledge: Expert knowledge of production technology, production engineering, well performance, nodal analysis, completion behavior, artificial lift, reservoir-well-facility integration, flow assurance, well integrity, offshore operations, production loss management, facility constraints and process safety principles. Skills: Expert capability in production data analysis, integrated production modelling, nodal analysis and well performance modelling using tools such as PROSPER, GAP, MBAL, PIPESIM, OLGA, OFM, Spotfire/Power BI or equivalent. Strong skills in intervention evaluation, production forecasting inputs, deferment analysis, risk assessment, contractor management, technical assurance and senior stakeholder communication.
