Our client is actively seeking an experienced Staff Electrical/Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure projects, particularly data centers. This individual will lead the design, coordination, and execution of complex electrical systems while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, conntractors, and project stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience on large capital projects, and the ability to oversee projects from conceptual design through commissioning. Key Responsibilities
Lead engineering design and execution for large-scale data center and mission-critical facility projects.
Develop and review electrical system designs, including:
Medium- and low-voltage power distribution
Backup power systems (generators, UPS systems)
Switchgear, substations, and distribution equipment
Grounding and lightning protection systems
Lighting and control systems
Coordinate with mechanical, architectural, civil, and construction teams throughout project lifecycles.
Perform technical analyses, equipment selection, load calculations, and system studies.
Review drawings, specifications, and engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Support construction administration, commissioning, and startup activities.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
Participate in client meetings and serve as a technical subject matter expert.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
8-15+ years of engineering experience.
Experience delivering large-scale industrial, mission-critical, or data center projects.
Strong understanding of power distribution systems, backup power infrastructure, and electrical design standards.
Experience with engineering design software and power system analysis tools.
Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Experience supporting hyperscale or colocation data center projects.
Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and applicable industry standards.
Experience with EPC, consulting engineering, or owner-side project delivery environments.
Previous leadership or mentoring experience.
