Entity: Technology Job Family Group: IT&S Group Job Description: As a Junior Enterprise Technology Engineer (Site Reliability Engineer) within bp’s Regulatory Reporting landscape, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of critical reporting platforms that support bp’s global regulatory obligations. Operating at the intersection of engineering and production support, you will help ensure that regulatory data flows are accurate, timely, and resilient. This role contributes directly to bp’s commitment to delivering compliant, high-quality regulatory reporting while driving operational efficiency, automation, and platform stability across trading and regulatory systems. Maintain high availability and resilience of regulatory reporting platforms, ensuring consistent performance and uninterrupted support for regulatory obligations. Resolve production incidents promptly and effectively, with clear root cause identification and a measurable reduction in recurring issues. Provide reliable and proactive monitoring and observability, enabling early detection of failures across platform health, data pipelines, and data quality controls. Ensure accurate, complete, and timely delivery of regulatory reporting data, meeting service level agreements (SLAs) and regulatory submission deadlines. Drive operational efficiency through automation and AI-enabled solutions, reducing manual effort and improving service reliability. Continuously improve system stability and data integrity through structured problem management, post-incident analysis, and implementation of preventive measures. Maintain the integrity and quality of regulatory data across end-to-end reporting processes and data flows. Required Experience and Skills Experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Production Support, or DevOps, with a strong interest in building reliable and resilient technology services. Demonstrated experience supporting business-critical production systems with high availability, performance, and operational stability requirements. Experience in incident and problem management, including root cause analysis and the implementation of improvements that reduce recurring issues and enhance service reliability. Working knowledge of monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana, Splunk, CloudWatch, or similar tools. Understanding of AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and CloudWatch. Experience with, or a strong willingness to develop, scripting and automation skills using technologies such as Python, Bash, and SQL. Understanding of Agile and DevOps practices, with an appreciation for collaboration, continuous improvement, and automation. Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work optimally across global and complex environments. Experience using modern engineering productivity tools, including GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development solutions. Knowledge of data management principles, including data quality, data lineage, reconciliation, validation, and governance. Desirable Skills and Experience Exposure to financial regulatory reporting processes and transaction lifecycles, including regulations such as EMIR, MiFID, Dodd-Frank, or similar reporting frameworks. Familiarity with trading, regulatory reporting, or compliance technology environments is advantageous but not essential. You will be part of a cross-functional Agile team within bp’s Regulatory Reporting and Trading Technology landscape, working closely with software engineers, business analysts, product owners, and business stakeholders to balance operational excellence with continuous platform enhancement.
