About the Role The Category Strategy Support Manager – Marketing & Corporate plays a key role in developing and executing category strategies that deliver value, optimise supplier performance, and mitigate risk across bp's Marketing & Corporate spend portfolio. Working closely with Category Managers, business stakeholders, and suppliers, you will provide strategic insight, market intelligence, and supplier management support to drive procurement and business objectives across a diverse range of corporate and marketing-related categories. Key Responsibilities Support the development and execution of category strategies across Marketing & Corporate categories, ensuring alignment to business objectives and procurement priorities. Lead a category support team, effectively prioritising work and managing delivery against stakeholder requirements. Develop high-quality presentations, reports, and strategic communications that support decision-making and stakeholder engagement. Partner with stakeholders and suppliers to identify opportunities for cost optimisation, supplier performance improvement, innovation, and value creation. Drive supplier performance management activities, including reviews, risk assessments, performance improvement plans, and issue resolution. Lead continuous improvement initiatives across category management processes, sourcing tools, KPI reporting, and governance frameworks. Manage procurement buying channels and commercial controls, ensuring compliance with contracts, pricing agreements, and procurement policies. Essential Requirements Degree in Business, Procurement, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Minimum 8–10 years' experience in Indirect Procurement, Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Supplier Management. Proven experience managing or supporting Marketing and/or Corporate Services categories, including one or more of: Workplace, including design & construction, facilities management and real estate Marketing, including media buying, creative & digital services, market research & consumer insights and brand & sponsorships Experience with other labour-based corporate services will also be considered. Strong understanding of supplier markets, commercial models, contract management, and value creation within Marketing and Corporate spend categories. Experience developing category strategies, conducting market analysis, and translating business requirements into sourcing and supplier management initiatives. Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across global, cross-functional environments. Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills. Experience leading teams or delivering outcomes through matrix and project-based environments. Comfortable operating in a complex, fast-paced, and globally distributed organisation. Desirable CIPS qualification or working towards membership. Experience working with global marketing agencies, media providers, workplace/facilities management firms, design & construction firms, or corporate service suppliers. Experience with SAP Ariba, Salesforce, Compass, or similar procurement technologies. Strong digital fluency and interest in emerging technologies and supplier innovation. Experience working across international and multicultural environments and managing remote stakeholder relationships.
