About the role As part of a high-performing intelligence team supporting a global energy company, the ISC Operations Intelligence Operator monitors, assesses and reports on global events and incidents, playing a critical role in the organisation's response to emerging risks and crises. The successful candidate will look beyond traditional media sources to identify developing threats and incidents, providing early warning and actionable intelligence. This requires the ability to independently exploit open-source information, including social media, alongside a range of specialist intelligence products, monitoring tools and software platforms. The Intelligence Operator assesses events for their potential impact on the company's people, assets, operations and reputation, raising concerns in accordance with established procedures. Working closely with incident response operators, global, regional teams, the role supports intelligence-led security risk management, incident response and crisis management activities across the organisation. The role also supports the production of thematic intelligence reporting, helping monitor trends, emerging risks and issues relevant to partners and broader business objectives. Key Responsibilities Monitor global events, emerging threats and incidents using open-source intelligence, social media and specialist monitoring platforms. Collect, analyse and disseminate operational intelligence to support intelligence-led decision-making and incident response. Understand bp’s operations and translate intelligence focussed activities into response Triggers, Warning and Indicators (TWIs). Assess potential impacts to company personnel, assets, operations and reputation. Bring up incidents and emerging issues in accordance with established procedures and response frameworks. Support intelligence-led security risk management and crisis response activities. Produce intelligence reports and briefings on trends, security issues and emerging risks. Collaborate closely with global and regional customers to support operational objectives. Location This is a Monday-Friday 9-5 position based in Sunbury/Feltham (Zone 6, South West London). The role requires 60:40 office attendance. NOTE – this role will move to Timber Square in Central London in Q4 2027/Q1 2028. Required Skills and Experience Ability to assess incidents and intelligence for potential business impact and bring up appropriately. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesise information from multiple sources. Experience gathering intelligence requirements and working with partners to deliver actionable intelligence products. Ability to collaborate effectively with global and regional teams in support of security risk management and incident response. Awareness of global geopolitical developments and their impact on business operations. Experience with OSINT, monitoring platforms and intelligence management tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and customer briefings. Experience Previous experience in an intelligence, security, operations, risk management or analytical environment supporting real-time business, security or operational activities is desirable.
