Scientist II – Immunology Location: Worcester, MA – 100% onsite Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Pay: $48–$52 per hour Contract: Initial six-month contract with the possibility of extension Benefits: Medical benefits available at a cost Orion Project Services is teaming up with a market-leading pharmaceutical company to recruit a motivated and detail-oriented Scientist II. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative immunology research while working alongside an experienced scientific team in a collaborative, fast-paced laboratory environment. The successful candidate will support a range of in vitro immunology assays, with a particular focus on T-cell and dendritic-cell function. This position requires strong laboratory skills, careful documentation, effective communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities: Perform in vitro immunology assays, including T-cell proliferation, cytokine-release, and dendritic-cell co-culture assays. Prepare samples and work with human primary immune cells, including peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). Conduct multicolor flow cytometry experiments using panels of at least eight colors. Maintain mammalian cell cultures in accordance with established procedures. Follow standard protocols and assist with assay optimization and troubleshooting when needed. Handle, organize, and document experimental data accurately. Maintain clear and thorough laboratory records. Communicate results and collaborate effectively with colleagues across the research team. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with at least three years of relevant experience, in immunology, cell biology, or a related scientific field. Demonstrated hands-on experience with cell culture and flow cytometry using a minimum of eight colors. Experience working with human primary immune cells, such as PBMCs, is strongly preferred. Strong laboratory, organizational, and documentation skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Capacity to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
