We are seeking an experienced
Completions Lead
to support the delivery of an offshore project through the construction, hook-up and commissioning phases. This is a leadership opportunity for a completions professional with a strong background in major offshore Oil & Gas facilities, mechanical completion, commissioning coordination and project handover.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical completion function and ensuring that completion activities are planned, coordinated and executed safely, efficiently and in line with project, contractual and regulatory requirements. The role is primarily office-based during hook-up and commissioning, with occasional offshore travel to the offshore facility.
About the role
Lead and support a team of Mechanical Completion Engineers and Technicians across completion and commissioning readiness activities.
Coordinate with engineering, construction and commissioning teams to ensure completion deliverables are aligned with contractual requirements, including tag lists, system and subsystem lists, check sheets and inspection test plans.
Drive readiness for mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning and handover through effective planning, coordination and issue resolution.
Prepare, review and manage completion dossiers including SMCC, RFCC, OUCC, OPCC and OCC documentation in accordance with project requirements.
Plan and coordinate system walkdowns in line with commissioning priorities and the overall project schedule.
Monitor punch items raised during project phases and support timely close-out to enable system handover.
Participate in project schedule reviews to identify completion-related risks, constraints and mitigation actions.
Coordinate with procurement, package engineers and vendors to support package completion, commissioning and handover to the client operations team.
Develop and review completion procedures and commissioning test procedures.
Promote a right-first-time culture by identifying efficiency improvements, contributing to project reviews and capturing lessons learned.
Regulatory and standards competence
Working knowledge of Australian offshore WHS regulations, NOPSEMA requirements, hazardous area compliance and relevant international standards.
About you
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering or an equivalent diploma supported by relevant industry experience.
10+ years’ experience in the Oil & Gas sector, ideally with major offshore facility completions exposure.
Advanced understanding of completions systems and their application across construction, commissioning and handover phases.
Strong knowledge of project design, specifications, contractual requirements.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary and multicultural teams in high-pressure offshore project environments.
Experience working within PMT, contractor and vendor environments, with strong stakeholder management capability.
Excellent communication, planning and coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and support safe, timely project delivery.
