Engineering Lead Piping Field

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead – Piping (Field) to support a major LNG project in Qatar. The role will oversee the EPC Contractor's Piping Field Engineering activities, ensuring piping design, engineering, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning activities are delivered in accordance with project requirements, specifications, standards and execution schedules. Key Responsibilities Provide Piping Engineering expertise, technical guidance and quality assurance while managing piping engineering activities. Oversee EPC Contractor Piping Field Engineering activities and ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, procedures and execution plans. Manage piping engineering scope, deliverables, technical requirements and design procedures within the EPC contract. Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and ensure alignment of piping engineering activities with overall project requirements. Review and validate EPC Contractor personnel capability, technical resources, design tools and engineering deliverables. Monitor Piping Field Engineering schedules, milestones and progress, including recovery plans for schedule delays. Review technical documentation, contract scope descriptions and engineering deliverables. Interface closely with EPC Contractors, subcontractors, vendors and internal Operations, SHES, Quality and Engineering teams. Ensure engineering execution aligns with applicable company policies, standards and project management systems. Support development and maintenance of relevant Piping Field Engineering procedures and technical references. Technical Scope The position involves piping systems including: Large pipe sizes Large valves, including control, motor-operated, pressure relief and manual valves Cryogenic systems High-pressure steam systems High-pressure sour gas services Onshore LNG facilities and utility systems Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 8 years of Piping Engineering experience. At least 4 years of Oil & Gas experience. Minimum 1 year in a supervisory, acting, or contractor/subcontractor/vendor oversight role. Major LNG project field experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of engineering execution, design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, LNG facilities, utility systems, construction and operations. Strong planning, coordination, technical and management skills. Excellent written and spoken English. Good communication, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
