Buying Channel Enablement Lead

Entity: Technology Job Family Group: Procurement & Supply Chain Management Group Job Description: As the Buying Channel Enablement Lead, you will play a key role in driving bp's digital procurement transformation by designing, implementing, and continuously improving SAP Ariba Guided Buying solutions. You will advise a team responsible for optimizing buying channels that enhance user experience, increase automation, improve compliance, and support efficient procurement across the organization. Working closely with Procurement, Technology, and business partners globally, you will help develop and deliver buying channel strategies that drive adoption, operational excellence, and measurable business outcomes! What you will deliver Team Leadership & Delivery Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing coaching, direction, and performance management. Set clear objectives, success measures, and development plans for team members. Lead all aspects of buying channel implementation activities and ensure business, procurement, and technical requirements are successfully delivered. Monitor and improve key performance metrics, including buying channel adoption and Auto-PO transaction rates. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and identify actions to address performance gaps. Guided Buying Design & Configuration Design and configure intuitive Guided Buying landing pages tailored to business and regional requirements. Implement user access controls and purchasing pathways that enhance the user experience. Configure search controls, synonyms, and catalog optimization to improve content discovery. Develop and maintain policy and validation rules that promote compliance and preferred supplier usage. System Administration & Optimization Handle user permissions, purchasing units, and functional groups within SAP Ariba Guided Buying. Review SAP Ariba quarterly releases and recommend opportunities to demonstrate new functionality. Configure and maintain request forms and intake workflows for complex procurement requirements. Support integration activities and ensure solution stability and performance. Support, Training & Analytics Act as an escalation point for Guided Buying technical and functional issues. Monitor buying behavior, search patterns, and user adoption trends to identify improvement opportunities. Develop training materials, user guides, and adoption campaigns to improve user engagement. Deliver reporting and insights that support data-driven decision making. What you will need to be successful Essential Experience 5+ years of experience working with SAP Ariba Guided Buying administration and configuration. Proven experience leading teams and handling complex procurement or system implementation initiatives. Strong understanding of procurement processes, buying channels, and purchasing compliance. Experience configuring Guided Buying landing pages, user access controls, request forms, and validation rules. Knowledge of catalog management, supplier enablement, and procurement system integrations. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across global and cross-functional teams. Demonstrated ability to analyse performance metrics and drive continuous improvement. Preferred Experience Experience with SAP Ariba Contract Workspace and broader Source-to-Contract (S2C) processes. Knowledge of PunchOut integrations, cXML, CIF catalogs, and Ariba Network supplier management. Experience working with data uploads, CSV structures, XML, or JSON formats. Experience supporting global procurement operations within a large matrix organization.
