The EIS Apprenticeship is designed to
build
technical skills in the electrical and instrumentation discipline
and gain
experience in field operations. As part of the program, apprentices will work with a range of equipment and systems such as overhead power lines, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), transmitters, and communication systems and more, providing valuable exposure to real-world applications in the industry.
Through a combination of structured training and immersive on-the-job learning, Apprentices are introduced to the complexity and criticality of work management, maintenance execution, and equipment servicing/repair.
The
position provides direct exposure to the Chevron Way Values and the strong safety culture that defines the Shale & Tight Business.
Apprentices
will
work closely with a
dedicated mentor, complete two assign
ments across different operational areas to develop a broad understanding of how teams
an
d functions work together to safely deliver production and minimize
downtime and
will also
participate
in computer-based and classroom training
.
This is a
temporary
6

month
field-based
position
.
Required Qualifications
High School
Diploma
or equivalent
Must have a v
alid
Driver's
License
Ability and willingness to
work day
and night shift work, weekends, and holidays based on assigned work
schedule
.
Live within 50 miles of the work location or willingness to
relocate
within 50 miles of the work location for the duration of the apprenticeship
This is a Safety Sensitive Position. Candidates must
demonstrate
personal commitment to Incident and Injury Free Operations with a proven record in Safety and Reliability
Preferred Qualifications
Applicants must meet at least one of the following: complete an Applied Associates of Science degree (such as
Instrumentation and
Control
(PLC)
, Computer Information Systems,
Automation,
Electrical, Electronics
or related field)
OR
have equivalent education or military training
OR
finish a certificate program
degree (such as Instrumentation and Control (PLC), Computer Information Systems, Automation, Electrical, Electronics or related field)
with previous oil & gas or similar industry experience.
Additionally
, a minimum GPA of 2.5 in core classes is
required
, and
transcripts
must be uploaded to the applicant’s online profile
Previous
experience with reliability,
safety
and/or envir
onmental
process related issues.
Previous
experience
with pneumatic/electronic instrumentation
Basic knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and an aptitude for learning new software applications
.
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and
intern
al and external customers
.

Candidates will need to
