About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Sr Field Supervisor to join an active exploration drilling programme in Queensland.
This is a site-based position working on a 15/13 roster, responsible for supervising ongoing Reverse Circulation (RC) and Diamond Drilling (DD) activities. The project currently has one DD rig and one RC rig operating, with further drilling activities expected.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring drilling activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required technical and quality standards. You will oversee multiple drilling crews, manage drilling contractors and provide strong field leadership across the programme.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day RC and DD drilling activities across site.
Coordinate and oversee multiple drilling rigs and field crews.
Provide strong field leadership to drilling contractors and site personnel.
Ensure all drilling activities are conducted in accordance with site HSE requirements, procedures and standards.
Manage drilling contractor performance, productivity and adherence to programme requirements.
Monitor drilling progress, metres drilled, productivity and operational performance.
Oversee sample collection, handling, management and QA/QC processes.
Ensure samples are correctly logged, labelled, stored and dispatched in accordance with project requirements.
Identify and resolve operational issues affecting drilling performance.
Maintain clear communication with project management, geologists, drilling contractors and other key stakeholders.
Complete daily reporting and provide accurate updates on drilling progress and site activities.
Assist with planning and coordination of upcoming drilling activities.
Ensure drilling equipment, personnel and contractors are operating safely and efficiently.
Promote a strong safety culture across all drilling activities.
Key Requirements
Minimum 10 years' experience within the drilling/mining industry.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Drilling/Field Supervisor capacity.
Strong and demonstrable experience supervising both RC and DD drilling programmes.
Previous experience managing multiple drilling rigs and field teams.
Strong understanding of drilling operations, sample management and QA/QC processes.
Proven experience managing drilling contractors and subcontractors.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and maintain high safety and operational standards.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a remote site environment.
Current C-Class Driver's Licence.
Current First Aid certification.
