Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced
HSE Supervisor
to support site operations and ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements during the execution of industrial construction, maintenance, and installation activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring site safety performance, enforcing HSE standards, supporting supervisors and contractors, and promoting a strong safety culture across the workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Site HSE Supervision
Monitor day-to-day site activities to ensure compliance with HSE procedures, standards, and applicable regulations.
Conduct routine site inspections, safety observations, and compliance checks.
Identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Promote a proactive safety culture through regular workforce engagement and coaching.
Support implementation of site HSE plans, procedures, and programs.
Workforce Safety Management
Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Ensure personnel understand job hazards and required control measures before commencing work.
Verify the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Monitor compliance with safe work procedures and permit-to-work requirements.
Encourage reporting of hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
Permit-to-Work & Risk Management
Verify work permits are properly authorized before work begins.
Ensure Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Risk Assessments, and Method Statements are available and followed.
Monitor high-risk activities and ensure required control measures are maintained.
Ensure compliance with emergency preparedness and response procedures.
Contractor HSE Monitoring
Monitor contractor compliance with site HSE requirements.
Participate in coordination and safety meetings.
Support contractors in addressing HSE concerns and improving safety performance.
Report serious or repeated HSE violations to site management.
Follow up on corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely closure.
Incident Prevention & Investigation
Participate in incident, accident, and near-miss investigations.
Assist in identifying root causes and developing corrective actions.
Monitor implementation of recommendations arising from investigations.
Maintain records of incidents and corrective actions.
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain HSE inspection, audit, and observation records.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports as required.
Track safety performance metrics and communicate findings to site management.
Support internal and external HSE audits.
Scope of Work
The HSE Supervisor will support activities including:
Minor Civil Works
Structural Steel Dismantling, Modification, and Erection
Dismantling of Existing Mechanical Equipment
Installation of New Mechanical Equipment
Piping Dismantling and Installation (Compressed Air and Hydraulic Systems)
Ducting and Small Platework Activities
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification preferred.
Minimum 3 to 5 years of HSE experience within industrial construction, manufacturing, plant maintenance, or heavy engineering environments.
Experience supporting brownfield projects, shutdowns, maintenance activities, or industrial installations is preferred.
