Location: Mentone, TX Schedule: 7/7 Type: W2 Contract (12 months, potential extension) Benefits: Dental, Health, Vision & 401(k) * This position does not offer relocation assistance Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Production Technician to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of oil and gas production facilities. This role is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment in a field environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oil and gas production operations, particularly in lease operator, pumper, or similar field-based roles. Direct experience with producing wells, tank batteries, compressors, separators, flowlines, and related production equipment is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot oil and gas production equipment. Diagnose equipment failures and perform repairs or coordinate repair activities as needed. Monitor and maintain producing wells, tank batteries, compressors, separators, flowlines, and associated equipment. Identify and resolve field issues that impact production, equipment reliability, or safety. Support production optimization initiatives and help achieve production targets. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational procedures. Efficiently manage assigned production routes with minimal supervision. Collaborate with production personnel and other field teams to achieve operational objectives. Accurately document field activities, maintenance work, equipment conditions, and production-related issues. Required Qualifications Experience working in an oil and gas production environment. Previous experience as a Lease Operator, Pumper, or in a similar production operations role preferred. Strong knowledge of production equipment and field operations. Proven ability to independently troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve operational challenges. Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment. Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence. Experience in Midland Basin and/or Permian Basin production operations is highly preferred. Ideal Candidate Profile The strongest candidates will have: Hands-on experience operating and maintaining producing wells and production facilities. Knowledge of tank batteries, compressors, separators, flowlines, and related production systems. The ability to independently identify and resolve field issues. Experience optimizing production performance while maintaining safe operations. A proven track record of working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced field environment. Direct Permian Basin oil and gas production experience.
