POSITION TITLE:
Mechanical Commissioning Engineer (Rotating)
KEY ROLE
This role is for the Shah Deniz Compression (SDC) project which will build a new Normally Uninhabited Installation (NUI) to be installed in the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan. The role will be based in the selected engineering contractor office and selected fabrication facility in Baku (Azerbaijan) and offshore for the greenfield and brownfield hook up and commissioning.
The SDC Rotating Equipment Engineer will support the SDC Commissioning Manager with safe and efficient delivery of rotating Equipment from commissioning readiness, contractor oversight, MC acceptance, static and dynamic commissioning and handover to Operations teams for the SDC project. The Rotating Equipment Engineer will be expected to set the highest standards in HSE and quality and promote and role model the bp approach of “Who We Are”. In the SDC project this will be a commissioning execution role and the engineer will be expected to deliver rotating equipment commissioning.

BASIC SKILLS
· A high-level of communication and interpersonal skills.
· Significant experience on rotating equipment commissioning is essential.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
· Higher education and an extensive Rotating Equipment commissioning experience base is essential.
EXPERIENCE
· Experience of effectively interfacing and working together with Design / Construction and Commissioning Contractors and Operations entities.
· Experience with HSSE issues related to on-site activities.
· Deep understanding of bp Construction & Commissioning Defined Practices (or similar) for both Greenfield and Brownfield projects and the latest international standards that assure integrity of build and construction quality.
· Experience with diverse work forces would be highly desirable.
· Technical and hands-on experience with gas compressors, centrifugal/reciprocating pumps and associated auxiliary systems
RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES
· Demonstrate personal HSSE leadership and excellent HSE behaviours at all times and ensure that safety expectations are communicated and maintained.
· Support the Mechanical Commissioning Lead on SoW and Schedule development and input to the contractor selection.
· Review and comment on Engineering contractors’ documents, provide commissioning perspective to Design.
· Attending Rotating Equipment Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT’s)
· Support in specifying and raising Purchase Orders for required Mechanical Tools, Test Equipment and Commissioning Spares.
· Specifying and raising Purchase Orders for First Fills
· Identify mechanical temporary system requirements for commissioning of rotating equipment
· Review and acceptance of contractor supplied procedures and activities for installation, preservation and commissioning of rotating equipment at all site locations.
· Responsible for the development and execution of relevant Commissioning Test Procedures (CTP) for the rotating equipment systems.
· Responsible for the development and compilation of relevant ITR’s.
· Oversee Contractor execution of construction and ensure a quality handover of sub systems at MC.
· Ensure all, Supervisors and Technicians deployed are fully aware and understand the projects safe working practices, process safety fundamentals and ensure they are adhered to maintain a SAFE working environment.
· Ensuring that all commissioning procedures and paperwork within the SHMP is completed to enable a smooth hand over of systems to Operations.
· Provide advice, coaching and training to Azerbaijani National personnel.
