Job Description – Senior Designer (EDES30) Title: Senior Electrical Designer Company: KBR - Inhouse Engineering Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE - KBR Office Key Consideration: Preference will be given to candidates holding valid OPITO-approved T-BOSIET/BOSIET and H₂S certifications with a minimum validity of six months. The selected candidate will be required to travel ADNOC offshore on a rotational basis to conduct site surveys, support brownfield assessments, verify existing installations, and obtain project-specific engineering data necessary for design and execution. Job Purpose The Senior Electrical Designer is responsible for the development and coordination of electrical design and drafting activities for offshore and onshore oil & gas projects. The role supports the Electrical Lead Engineer and Principal Electrical Designer in delivering high-quality engineering design packages during FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, and Brownfield modification projects. The position requires strong expertise in electrical layouts, cable routing, equipment modeling, lighting systems, and multidisciplinary coordination while ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and international engineering codes. Key Responsibilities Prepare and develop electrical design deliverables in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards. Produce electrical layouts, equipment arrangement drawings, cable tray routing drawings, grounding layouts, lighting layouts, and installation details. Develop and maintain Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), schematics, interconnection diagrams, and electrical installation drawings under engineering supervision. Prepare, Review Offshore Navigational light and helideck lighting layout Prepare cable schedules, equipment schedules, load schedules, and material take-offs. Incorporate vendor information into project drawings and design documentation. Ensure drawings are prepared in compliance with ADNOC standards, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and project specification. Perform electrical 3D modeling using AVEVA E3D and/or Smart 3D (S3D). Model electrical equipment, cable trays, lighting fixtures, junction boxes, panels, and support systems. Coordinate routing and equipment locations with piping, structural, mechanical, process, and instrumentation disciplines. Participate in multidisciplinary model reviews and support clash detection and resolution activities using Navisworks and Smart Plant Review (SPR). Optimize equipment placement and cable routing to improve constructability and maintenance accessibility Coordinate electrical routing with piping, structural, mechanical, and instrumentation disciplines. Participate in offshore site surveys, brownfield assessments, and field-verification activities. Verify existing installations and collect field data required for engineering design. Assist in identifying brownfield constraints and tie-in requirements. Incorporate site survey findings into engineering deliverables and model updates Support FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, and Brownfield project execution activities. Participate in Constructability Reviews, Design Reviews, and Model Reviews. Coordinate with engineers and project teams to resolve electrical design issues. Respond to construction and commissioning site queries in a timely manner. Review and update redline markups and assist in the preparation of as-built drawings. Ensure deliverables are completed within project schedules and quality requirements. Ensure full compliance with ADNOC specifications, standards, and project-specific requirements. Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and hazardous area requirements. Experience 8+ years of experience in Oil & Gas-Onshore & Offshore / industrial projects Experience in FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, or Brownfield projects. Experience working on offshore platforms, substations, or process facilities. Basic level of proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications specifically: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word Microsoft Office 365 Software: AutoCAD, MicroStation, AVEVA E3D, Smart 3D (S3D), Navisworks, Smart Plant Review (SPR) Good understanding of Electrical concepts Good written and oral communication skills OPITO Approved
