Job Summary The Director, Gas Gathering & Processing is responsible for leading the commercial strategy, negotiation, execution, and ongoing management of gas gathering, processing, treating, compression, and produced water agreements that support ConocoPhillips' Lower 48 operations. This role is critical to maximizing the value and flow assurance of natural gas production by ensuring timely well connectivity, optimizing commercial arrangements, and maintaining strategic relationships with midstream service providers. As a key leader within Gas & Water Midstream (GWM), the Director partners closely with Business Unit leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to support growth initiatives, particularly within the Permian Basin, while driving operational excellence, commercial value creation, and long-term strategic objectives. Position Overview Your responsibilities may include: Commercial Strategy & Negotiations Lead the negotiation, execution, and management of complex gas gathering, compression, treating, processing, and transportation agreements. Lead the negotiation and management of produced water gathering, disposal, and offtake agreements. Develop and execute commercial strategies that maximize production value, improve flow assurance, reduce costs, and enhance operational flexibility. Structure and negotiate commercial arrangements that align with business objectives while appropriately managing risk. Provide contract leadership from initial strategy development through execution and ongoing administration. Midstream Relationship Management Develop and maintain strategic relationships with third-party midstream service providers. Monitor provider performance and ensure contractual commitments are fulfilled. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to address operational constraints and advance commercial priorities. Support timely well connections and infrastructure solutions to meet development plans and production targets. Business Development & Value Creation Identify, evaluate, and advance commercial opportunities that increase value through improved gathering, processing, treating, compression, transportation, and water management solutions. Analyze market fundamentals, infrastructure availability, regulatory developments, and commercial trends to inform strategic decisions. Develop recommendations regarding infrastructure expansions, contract restructuring opportunities, cost reductions, and revenue enhancements. Support long-range planning and growth initiatives across the Gas & Water Midstream portfolio. Financial Analysis & Commercial Modeling Lead economic evaluation of complex commercial transactions and competing opportunities. Conduct sensitivity analyses and financial modeling to assess value, risk, and business outcomes. Provide strategic recommendations supported by quantitative analysis and market intelligence. Ensure appropriate quality control and governance of commercial evaluations and business cases. Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement Lead, develop, and coach a high-performing commercial team. Establish clear priorities, goals, and performance expectations aligned with organizational objectives. Present recommendations, commercial strategies, and approval requests to senior leadership. Build strong partnerships with Operations, Development, Facilities, Land, Legal, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, and other business functions. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
