About the Role We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with expertise in modelling and optimization to develop analytical and decision-support solutions that drive business and operational performance. In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders, domain experts, and software product teams to solve complex real-world challenges using machine learning, modelling, optimization, and advanced analytics. You will tackle complex challenges at the intersection of data, engineering, and decision-making, developing solutions that help optimize operations, improve business performance, and shape strategic decisions across the value chain. This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional reporting and predictive analytics to build solutions that directly influence decisions, improve operational outcomes, and create measurable business value. This position is based in Kraków and operates in a hybrid working model, requiring employees to work from the office 4 days per week. What You'll Do Solve complex business and operational challenges through the development of machine learning, modelling, and optimization solutions that drive measurable business value. Apply predictive and prescriptive analytics to develop decision intelligence capabilities that support scenario evaluation, decision-making, and performance improvement across the value chain. Translate business problems into analytical frameworks, selecting the most appropriate techniques based on objectives, constraints, and desired outcomes. Partner with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technology teams to identify data opportunities, validate solutions, and ensure successful deployment into digital products and services. Communicate insights, model outcomes, and recommendations in a clear and actionable manner, helping stakeholders make better data-driven decisions. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Physics, or a related quantitative discipline. A Master's degree or PhD is advantageous. 5+ years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, machine learning, modelling & optimization, or related disciplines. Strong experience applying machine learning, statistical methods, modelling and optimization techniques to solve real business or operational problems. Proficiency in Python and the modern data science ecosystem, with experience working with SQL and diverse structured and unstructured datasets. Experience developing, validating, and deploying analytical, predictive, or prescriptive solutions in production environments. Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts and influence decision-making across technical and non-technical audiences. Nice to Have Experience within Oil & Gas, Energy, Manufacturing, Logistics, Supply Chain, or other industrial sectors. Experience with mathematical optimization and metaheuristic techniques. Experience developing decision-support tools, digital twins, simulation models, or scenario-planning solutions. Familiarity with modern software engineering practices, version control systems (e.g., GitHub), Agile methodologies, and code quality standards. Why Join Us?
