Partnering with the best As a Production Planner / Scheduler, you are developing and maintaining production schedules based on customer demand, material availability, manufacturing capacity, inventory levels, and lead-time commitments. You are partnering with Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations teams to establish production priorities, identify constraints, and protect customer delivery commitments. You are driving schedule execution, mitigating risks, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations. As a Production Planner / Scheduler, you are responsible for: Developing daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules by department and work cell. Converting customer orders and SIOP forecasts into executable production plans. Creating, reviewing, and releasing production work orders and supporting documentation. Monitoring production progress, work-in-process inventory, and schedule adherence. Identifying material shortages, capacity constraints, and potential delivery risks. Adjusting and expediting schedules when customer priorities or operating conditions change. Communicating production status, constraints, and delivery risks to management and commercial teams. Coordinating with Purchasing to align material availability and supplier delivery dates with production requirements. Working closely with Engineering to validate bills of material, routings, drawings, and special-order requirements. Maintaining accurate planning parameters and production data within ERP systems. Supporting cycle counts and investigating inventory discrepancies through root-cause analysis. Preparing reports related to backlog, capacity utilization, schedule performance, inventory health, and delivery risk. Supporting Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Performing additional duties as assigned to support business objectives. Fuel your passion To be successful in this role you will: Have a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, Industrial Distribution, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Have five or more years of experience in production planning, scheduling, materials management, or buyer/planner roles within an industrial manufacturing environment. Have strong ERP/MRP system experience. Have advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Have experience analyzing demand, capacity, inventory, material requirements, and lead times. Have the ability to understand bills of material, routings, work orders, and engineering drawings. Have strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Have the ability to manage changing priorities and make timely decisions. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Have knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly processes. Have experience working in a high-mix, low-volume or engineer-to-order manufacturing environment. Have experience supporting SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) processes. Have experience using SAP or similar manufacturing ERP systems. Have experience within aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing industries.
