Accountant - Principal Accountant (Houston, TX, US, 77032)

Responsibilities and Essential Duties Maintain compliance with applicable U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations. Maintain compliance with SOX controls over corporate accounting. Assist in collaboration with cross functional groups such as BD, HR, HSE, IT, Real Estate, Tax, Treasury, Legal to deliver accurate and timely reporting for executive and upper-level management. Assist in month-end close processes to facilitate timely and accurate financial results for indirect support functions and corporate accounting processes as well as forecast and budget support. Assist in preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Gather information and review data to ensure the accuracy of accruals and month end results. Qualifications Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in accounting, business, or other related field and a minimum of nine (9) months of experience in accounting related roles. (2) to (5) years of experience in accounting related roles is strongly preferred. CPA or actively working on completing. Willingness to work overtime, as necessary, during month-end close to meet deadlines. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to produce accurate results. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Pro. Knowledge of US GAAP. Skills Works well in a team environment. Solid attention to details, highly organized, and great time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A plus, but not required: Public accounting experience. Large or global company experience.
