Our client is actively seeking an Environmental Technician to join their team out of the Greater Carnegie, PA area. This individual will work alongside an experienced team performing industrial environmental services, emergency response, and remediation projects throughout Western Pennsylvania and the surrounnding region. Job duties will vary each day, as responsabilities will include spill response, industrial facility and tank cleaning, remediation support, emergency responses and more! This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem solving, working outdoors, and being part of a team that responds to customers in need. This is a full-time, long-term contract opportunity offering $23.00-26.00/hr, health benefits, 401K, life insurance and more!
Position Summary:
As an
Environmental Technician (Industrial Services)
, you'll work alongside an experienced team performing industrial environmental services, emergency response, and remediation projects throughout Western Pennsylvania and the surrounding region.
No two days are the same. One day you may be responding to a spill, the next cleaning an industrial facility, performing tank cleaning, supporting a remediation project, or assisting with utility emergency response work.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, solving problems, working outdoors, and being part of a team that responds when customers need help most.
Responsibilities:
Respond to emergency spill response and environmental incidents
Perform site remediation, industrial cleaning, equipment decontamination, and tank cleaning
Operate pressure washers, pumps, generators, vacuum systems, and other environmental equipment
Collect environmental samples and assist with waste characterization
Package, load, transport, and unload hazardous and non-hazardous materials
Assist with equipment setup, teardown, maintenance, and decontamination
Operate company trucks, trailers, and field equipment
Maintain accurate field documentation including manifests, spill reports, JHAs, inspection forms, and timesheets
Maintain warehouses, vehicles, equipment, and supplies
Follow all company safety policies and site-specific requirements
Participate in a rotating 24/7 emergency response on-call schedule
Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
This is an active, physically demanding position.
Applicants must be able to:
Lift and carry 50+ pounds on a regular basis
Climb ladders and work at varying heights
Work outdoors in all weather conditions
Enter confined spaces when properly trained
Wear Levels A, B, C, and D PPE, including respirators, for extended periods
Stand, kneel, bend, crawl, and work on uneven terrain throughout the day
Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years of environmental, industrial, construction, utility, or related field experience
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong work ethic with a commitment to safety
Ability to travel to regional job sites as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following:
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER
Confined Space Entry & Rescue Training
Respirator Fit Testing / Respirator Training
Experience with hazardous waste operations
CDL (or ability to obtain one)
Heavy equipment experience (excavators, skid steers, telehandlers, forklifts, manlifts, etc.)
Experience operating pumps, vacuum equipment, pressure washers, generators, or similar industrial equipment
Utility, refinery, manufacturing, remediation, demolition, or emergency response experience
