What role you will play in our team If successful, you will be an integral part of our Global Trading Analytics organization, supporting North American natural gas trading, asset optimization, portfolio strategy, and structured commercial activity. We are seeking a highly motivated analyst with deep expertise in natural gas fundamentals, quantitative modeling, and GPCM (Gas Pipeline Competition Model) to develop and enhance analytical frameworks, market models, and decision-support tools that enable informed commercial and trading decisions. In this role, you will work closely with traders, originators, structurers, quantitative analysts, and risk professionals to support growth across our natural gas business. You will leverage GPCM as a core modeling platform to evaluate market fundamentals, regional balances, pipeline flows, storage dynamics, basis relationships, and commercial opportunities. You will contribute to the development of scalable state-of-the-art analytical solutions that support portfolio optimization, trading strategy development, and commercial decision-making in a dynamic market environment. What you will do Develop, maintain, and enhance GPCM-based models supporting North American natural gas market analysis, trading, asset optimization, and commercial strategy. Build and maintain natural gas supply and demand models incorporating production, pipeline flows, LNG exports, industrial demand, power generation demand, residential/commercial consumption, and storage dynamics. Develop regional and basin-level market balance views across key North American markets including Henry Hub, Permian, Northeast, Midcontinent, Gulf Coast, Western Canada, and other major trading hubs. Analyze pipeline constraints, transportation capacity utilization, flow dynamics, congestion events, and basis market behavior to identify commercial and trading opportunities. Deliver short-, medium-, and long-term market forecasts and fundamental views that support trading strategies, portfolio positioning, and risk management decisions. Support optimization of physical and financial portfolios, including storage injection and withdrawal strategies, transportation capacity utilization, basis optimization, and contractual optionality. Partner closely with traders, originators, and structurers to translate market fundamentals and modeling outputs into actionable commercial insights, trade ideas, and positioning recommendations. Evaluate structured natural gas transactions, transportation agreements, storage contracts, and other commercial opportunities through quantitative and fundamental analysis. Build and maintain Python-based analytical frameworks, data pipelines, and modeling tools that improve scalability, transparency, and efficiency of market analysis. Conduct statistical analysis, scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and forecasting exercises to assess market risks and opportunities. Evaluate model performance through validation, back-testing, and continuous enhancement to improve forecast accuracy and commercial value. Collaborate with data engineering teams, quantitative analysts, and global trading organizations to develop robust, scalable, and production-ready analytical solutions. Produce clear and concise market commentary, presentations, and analytical reports that communicate complex market dynamics and modeling outputs to commercial stakeholders. What you bring Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Energy Systems, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline. Hands-on experience utilizing GPCM (Gas Pipeline Competition Model) for North American natural gas market analysis, forecasting, and commercial decision support. Strong understanding of North American natural gas markets, including supply and demand fundamentals, storage dynamics, pipeline operations, transportation markets, and regional basis relationships. Experience building and maintaining market balance models, supply and demand models, flow models, forecasting frameworks, and fundamental market analysis tools.
