The role: This opportunity offers hands-on end-user computing support in an industrial refinery environment, with responsibility for deskside support, hardware troubleshooting, mobile device support and refresh activities across local sites. The role will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to help maintain reliable IT service delivery, accurate documentation and safe operational support. This position is well suited to candidates with strong troubleshooting capability, sound judgement and experience supporting infrastructure systems in a dynamic onsite setting. Required Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent Required Experience: Minimum 3 years of direct experience troubleshooting infrastructure systems and end-user computing environments Experience providing onsite deskside support for hardware, software and user computing issues Ability to support day-to-day operations and provide occasional after-hours support when required Experience working effectively in an operational or industrial environment with a strong focus on safety and service continuity Required Skills: Ability to coordinate resources and suppliers to complete service requests, refresh activities and project work Strong documentation skills for supported systems, devices and processes Ability to collaborate with business teams, local stakeholders and central infrastructure teams Strong problem-solving, communication and customer-facing support skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic onsite environment Ability to lift computer equipment up to 30 lbs., push or pull equipment on a cart up to 100 lbs., and move across site locations including stairs and field areas Ability to comply with site safety requirements and use appropriate personal protective equipment Required Certifications: Valid driver's licence (Required) Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), or ability to obtain and maintain one (Required) Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience 4–5 years of experience in an information technology discipline 2+ years of experience supporting refining or midstream IT assets Experience installing and troubleshooting data centre infrastructure A+ certification (Preferred) Demonstrated ability to learn and apply advanced or specialised technical training Strong leadership and initiative, with the ability to build trust and confidence with customers and technical teams
