Position Overview ConocoPhillips’ Australian headquarters are located in Brisbane. Our focus is supplying Australian customers with natural gas and international customers with liquefied natural gas. We do this through our 47.5 percent interest in the Australia Pacific LNG joint venture, one of the largest producers of natural gas in eastern Australia. ConocoPhillips Australia also operates the Australia Pacific LNG liquefied natural gas facility near Gladstone. We are also an exploration company, with ongoing exploration occurring in the Bowen and Surat Basin in Central Queensland and new exploration in the Otway Basin along the southern coast of Australia to identify natural gas reserves for supply to Australian customers. About the ConocoPhillips Engineering Internship Ready to elevate your engineering studies with real-world experience in the energy sector? The ConocoPhillips Engineering Internship for 2026-27 offers an exciting opportunity for driven and enthusiastic penultimate year engineering students to join the following areas in our organisation: Process Engineering Team Mechanical Engineering Team Instrumentation, Controls & Electrical (ICE) Team During the 12-week paid internship, from 23 November 2026 to 26 February 2027, you'll have the opportunity to: Work alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists, including multiple site visits to the Australia Pacific LNG facility in Gladstone, Queensland. Contribute to meaningful technical projects and work tasks that support real business outcomes. Gain practical experience using industry-leading engineering systems and software. Develop your technical, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. Receive mentoring and guidance in a supportive and collaborative learning environment. About You You are a motivated and enthusiastic engineering student with a growth mindset and a genuine interest in building a career in the energy sector. To be successful, you will: Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident. Alignment to ConocoPhillips’ SPIRIT values. Strong desire to learn and improve your professional and technical engineering skills. Be available to work full time in Brisbane from 23 November 2026 to 26 February 2027. Be available to travel to the Australia Pacific LNG facility in Gladstone, Queensland to undertake site visits.
