Wells Category Specialist Location: Iraq (Rotational Assignment) Home working may be required initially pending visa processing. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Wells Category Specialist to join our Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) team. This role is responsible for delivering procurement and contract management activities across a portfolio of Wells Services categories, supporting critical operational and business objectives. The successful candidate will manage the full procurement lifecycle, from category strategy development and sourcing through to contract award, supplier performance management, and post-award contract administration. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional with strong commercial acumen and experience within the oil and gas sector, particularly Wells Services. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end procurement and sourcing activities across assigned Wells Services categories. Develop and maintain Category Strategies and Strategy & Bid Lists (SBLs) in collaboration with key stakeholders. Prepare and present procurement strategies and bid plans for governance approval. Develop and issue RFPs and contract documentation through procurement systems. Prepare Bid Evaluation Plans (BEPs) and coordinate bid evaluation activities. Conduct commercial evaluations, negotiations, and supplier engagement activities. Prepare Recommendations for Award (RFAs) and support governance approval processes. Manage post-award contract activities, including amendments, call-offs, invoice queries, claims, and dispute resolution. Support Supplier Performance Management processes, including KPI monitoring, performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, pricing developments, and commercial opportunities within the Wells Services sector. Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, processes, and governance requirements. About You You will be a commercially driven procurement professional with proven experience managing complex sourcing and contract activities in demanding operational environments. Essential Experience and Skills Proven experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and contract management. Strong understanding of the full procurement lifecycle, including: Category management Sourcing strategy development RFP preparation and execution Bid evaluation Commercial negotiations Contract award Post-award contract management Strong analytical and commercial skills, including cost analysis, benchmarking, and market assessment. Excellent negotiation, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement skills. Strong understanding of commercial and contractual principles. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within challenging timelines. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Preferred Experience Experience within the oil and gas industry. Direct experience procuring Wells Services, including: Well Testing Wireline / E-Line Services Coiled Tubing Wellhead Services Completion Services Drilling Services Other related Wells categories Experience operating within joint venture environments and/or working alongside National Oil Companies (NOCs). Experience using ARIBA and/or Maximo. Preferred Qualifications CIPS, MCIPS, M/FRICS, or equivalent professional procurement qualification.
