Job Title: Structural Specialist Duration: 18 Months Location: Milan, Italy This opportunity supports a detail design petrochemical project focused on water handling and injection facilities through to 2035 production requirements. The role offers involvement across FEED and EPC activities, with a strong emphasis on civil and structural engineering, steelwork design, equipment foundations and compliance with international design codes. This position will contribute to complex process plant and infrastructure delivery in a technically demanding oil and gas project environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead, review, assess and manage the allocated FEED and EPC scope of work under delegated project direction. Support the development of scope of work defined in relevant Work Entity Releases during the FEED phase. Supervise civil and structural engineering execution during detailed design. Produce calculations for heavy equipment foundations, buildings and steel structures. Carry out analysis and design of modular steel structures, including sea transportation, lifting, skidding, load-out and stress analysis. Design structural steel and precast pipe racks. Design structural steel technological structures and process plant structures. Design blast resistant buildings. Design foundations for compressors, table top units, pumps and similar machine types. Design equipment foundations for exchangers, coolers, process columns, steel stacks, horizontal vessels and pipe supports. Contribute to the design of specialist structures such as chimneys, natural draught cooling towers, pre-stressed bridges and arch bridges. Review drawings, specifications and calculations for compliance with applicable codes, engineering practices and standards. Coordinate design activities to support material requisitions and ensure documentation aligns with project technical specifications. Analyse disputed items from technical and contractual perspectives and prepare formal responses. Process and follow up change order requests, including preparation of justification worksheets and scope alignment with the contractor. Required Education & Certifications: Bachelor Degree in an Engineering discipline (Required) Required Experience: 10 to 15 years of experience in oil and gas industry petrochemical projects. Experience in FEED, EPC and detailed design project delivery. Required Skills: Strong technical capability in civil and structural engineering execution. Steelwork design and structural connections expertise. Good working knowledge of Aramco standards and procedures and international standards. Knowledge of international design codes and practices, including American and British codes and the International Building Code (IBC). Ability to plan and conduct independent work requiring engineering judgement, evaluation and adaptation of engineering techniques and procedures. English communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to analyse and solve problems effectively. Ability to communicate openly and effectively. Strong planning, organisation and results focus. Commitment to safety.
