Overview
Subsea7 is seeking an
Accountant
to join the team on a
9-month contract
based in
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
. We are ideally looking for someone who can start in
September or October
. The Accoutant/Senior Accountant is responsible for the provision of regular financial and tax information in compliance with Group guidelines and local financial reporting regulations.
All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.
All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct
What will you be doing?
To provide seamless operational backup and assume full entity accounting responsibilities during the permanent accountant’s maternity leave.
The accountant is responsible for the provision of regular financial and tax information in compliance with Group guidelines and local financial reporting regulations.
Ensure continuous compliance with all Finance policies, processes and procedures and promote best practice.
Ensure that all transactions and taxes are recorded and reported in accordance with Subsea 7 statutory and local legal requirements.
Organize, run and monitor the closing process monthly, quarterly and annually, including the collating of any required accounts.
Prepare Balance sheet reconciliation and Analytical review as per policy.
Manage Sales Service Tax and Withholdings Tax.
Liaise with internal and external auditors with regards to accounting issues and internal control over Financial Reporting.
Liaise with tax department and external consultants to ensure that all taxes (both direct and indirect taxes) are in compliance with local regulations.
Provide financial related information to stake holder when required.
Ensure Finance capitalizes from lessons learned and is performed in accordance with best practice, striving to mitigate risk, promoting safety and integrity consistently.
Contribute to the development of the Finance Function through clearly understood roles, responsibilities and performance objectives, regular feedback and continuing professional training.
What experience would we like you to have?
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar qualifications (Professionally qualified accountant is an added advantage)
Experience in SAP and SAP Hana.
Experience in handing Malaysia Accounts and Tax related matters.
Relevant previous experience at an appropriate level in oil and gas environment
