About the Role We are seeking for a Health and Safety Advisor based primarily in Docklands VIC with regular site visits offshore for a major oil and gas operator on an 18-months’ contract. The Health & Safety Advisor provides health, safety and process safety support for decommissioning activities, partnering with project teams and contractors to manage risks, implement safety requirements, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a strong safety culture. The role also provides assurance, oversight, workforce engagement, and continuous improvement support across offshore, marine, and onshore operations. Responsibilities: Provide health, safety and process safety support across offshore, marine and onshore decommissioning activities. Implement and assure compliance with management systems, regulatory requirements, and project safety standards. Facilitate risk assessments, hazard identification workshops, and verification of critical controls. Conduct audits, inspections, investigations, and assurance activities to improve safety performance. Support emergency preparedness, incident management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Partner with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to manage interfaces, risks, and safety outcomes. Promote a positive safety culture through visible leadership, coaching, mentoring, and workforce engagement. Skills/Requirements 5+ years of HSE experience in energy, resources, construction, marine, or other high-hazard industries (essential) Strong knowledge of risk management, process safety, contractor assurance, and incident investigation. Self-motivated, able to work independently, and willing to travel offshore, vessel, yard, and disposal sites (essential) Tertiary qualification in Health & Safety, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline preferred. Professional certifications, memberships, or formal training in auditing, investigations, and risk facilitation are advantageous. Decommissioning experience across offshore facilities, wells, subsea infrastructure, marine operations, dismantling, waste management, or disposal (preferred). Familiarity with safety cases, regulatory engagement, and late-life asset transition is highly regarded. About Airswift Airswift is an international workforce solutions provider.
