Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer (Onshore EPC/EPSCC Project) Responsible for leading the Rotating Equipment discipline on a major onshore oil & gas processing facility, overseeing engineering definition, equipment selection, contractor management, and technical delivery from detailed engineering through construction, commissioning, and start-up.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all rotating equipment engineering activities, ensuring design integrity, technical compliance, and successful project execution.
Manage EPC contractor and vendor deliverables for critical rotating equipment, including compressors, turbo expanders, and associated packages.
Review and approve engineering documentation, equipment specifications, technical queries, deviations, and vendor deliverables.
Ensure designs are fit for procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation, commissioning, and long-term operation.
Provide technical support during construction, installation, commissioning, start-up, and operational readiness phases.
Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces to address constructability, logistics, installation, weight control, and operational constraints.
Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations, vendor reviews, manufacturing inspections, and equipment qualification.
Participate in FATs, vendor inspections, safety reviews, audits, constructability reviews, and project assurance activities.
Identify and manage technical risks, scope changes, and key engineering decisions, providing recommendations and mitigation strategies to project leadership.
Monitor contractor performance, engineering progress, quality, schedule adherence, and close-out activities to ensure project objectives are achieved.
Drive technical optimisation, standardisation, value engineering, and lessons-learned implementation throughout the project lifecycle.
Environment:
International assignment supporting detailed engineering and site execution activities.
Reporting to the Onshore Engineering Manager and working closely with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams across multiple locations.
Profile:
Extensive experience in rotating equipment engineering within oil & gas, energy, or major industrial projects.
Strong expertise in compressors, turbomachinery, packaged equipment, commissioning, and operational readiness.
Proven background in EPC project execution, contractor management, technical leadership, and multidisciplinary coordination.
Ability to manage complex technical interfaces, risk assessments, equipment procurement, and project delivery in large-scale developments.
