About the role: The IBERIA Finance Advisor is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of statutory, financial and tax reporting for Castrol Spain and Portugal. The role provides end-to-end accountability for statutory accounts, audit coordination, and tax and regulatory submissions, while also supporting the departments accountable for intercompany billing related to Royalty and Residual Fees, as well as related treasury and payment processes. It plays a key role in maintaining a strong control environment by partnering with FBT, Tax, Treasury, external auditors and statutory bodies, while ensuring compliance with local regulations and group standards across the Castrol business in IBERIA. In addition, you will provide quality assurance and coordination of cross-border reports and the corresponding processes for Castrol Spain and Portugal and subsidiaries in compliance with stock corporation, company and tax as well as local laws and regulations, the execution of the corresponding risk management and compliance with corporate governance. This also includes coordinating with and ensuring the resulting reporting obligations for and to the Executive Board, management and Supervisory Board. Ensuring compliance with the requirements of internal and external audits as well as audit processes is also a crucial part of the position. The Castrol IBERIA Finance Advisor will safeguard and ensure accuracy and compliance with local tax requirements particularly associated with corporate income tax, withholding tax, sales tax, civil tax, property, agricultural and other local taxes. You will maintain close working relationships with other business partners, acting as ‘co-pilot’ and providing professional Finance and Tax support. You will simultaneously lead multiple processes and issues, showing resilience and strong skills in prioritizing efforts. Throughout the accountabilities of the role, the Castrol IBERIA Finance Advisor leads the identification of continuous efficiency improvements in Finance and Tax processes and drives continuous improvement of business performance. You will be accountable for the local delivery of period end close for statutory and group accounts, lead and co-ordinate local audit as well as local taxation accounting support for the relevant legal entities within the IBERIA region with proper coordination and establishing effective relationships with FBT organization, custom agencies, tax warehouses and external authorities Key accountabilities: Single point of accountability and primary contact with regards to all matters related to corporate income tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, VAT tax and excise tax. Leads the company direct and local tax policies and ensure a robust control and supervising environment and effective risk mitigation. Is key business interface and critical issue point, fostering effective internal and external relationships. Supports, co-ordinates and participates in internal and external tax audits and inspections. On request, provides input to tax advocacy activities. Liaises with FBT to ensure quality, completeness and accuracy of tax filing. Jointly pursues opportunities for continuous improvement. Owns direct and indirect tax-related procedures and processes and performs ongoing review of changes in national and international tax and accounting requirements to verify relevance to the business and make appropriate interventions and implementations. Engages and supports in tax return preparation, validation and submission. Maintains the ERP financial and tax system. Supports, advises and participates, when needed, in continuous improvement, standardization and simplification of processes, business activities and projects in the design of accounting-related and tax issues, including direct and indirect tax projects. Supports treasury activities, including local bank relationship management, and provides ongoing support for issue resolution. Coordinates schedules and dependency report activities. Coordinates dependency report-related GBS activities (data collection of values and volumes) and integration in/coordination with the dependency report, ensuring timely implementation.
