Primary Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and monitor subcontractor testing and commissioning activities.
Perform mechanical system walkdowns and readiness inspections.
Verify installation completeness against drawings, specifications, checklists, and commissioning requirements.
Confirm that mechanical systems and equipment are ready for checkout, startup, and functional testing.
Witness and monitor equipment startup, performance testing, and functional verification.
Ensure detailed equipment checkouts and functionality checks are completed and properly documented.
Identify, document, track, and help resolve deficiencies, incomplete work, and punch-list items.
Coordinate commissioning activities with subcontractors, vendors, construction teams, engineering, quality, operations, and project management.
Support equipment vendor representatives during startup, troubleshooting, and performance validation.
Review commissioning documentation, test records, turnover packages, and system completion records for accuracy and completeness.
Support system turnover, client acceptance testing, and final handover.
Verify that commissioning work complies with approved startup procedures, project requirements, and applicable safety standards.
Ensure adherence to lockout/tagout procedures and other energy-isolation requirements.
Monitor equipment performance and assist with troubleshooting mechanical system issues.
Communicate system status, outstanding deficiencies, testing progress, and schedule risks to project stakeholders.
