Reliability Engineer - Fixed Plant
to join their site-based maintenance and engineering team.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Reliability and Planning leadership team, you will play a key role in improving asset performance, equipment reliability and maintenance effectiveness across a large-scale mineral processing operation.
Working closely with Maintenance, Operations and Technical teams, you will analyse equipment performance, identify reliability improvement opportunities and implement initiatives that enhance plant availability while reducing maintenance costs and downtime.
This position offers the opportunity to influence maintenance strategy and contribute to the long-term success of a complex fixed plant environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement reliability strategies for critical fixed plant assets.
Analyse maintenance and operational data to identify reliability trends and performance improvement opportunities.
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations into equipment failures and recurring issues.
Optimise preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
Facilitate reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) and FMEA reviews.
Support shutdown planning and execution activities.
Monitor and report on asset health and reliability KPIs.
Work collaboratively with Operations and Maintenance teams to improve equipment performance and plant availability.
Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, reliability and operational efficiency.
Support condition monitoring programs and predictive maintenance technologies.
About You
A degree qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience in a Reliability Engineering role within mining, mineral processing, heavy industry, oil & gas, power generation or manufacturing.
Strong understanding of fixed plant equipment, including crushers, conveyors, pumps, screens, processing circuits and associated infrastructure.
Experience applying reliability methodologies such as RCA, RCM and FMEA.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience using CMMS platforms such as SAP or similar maintenance management systems.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A proactive, improvement-focused approach to engineering and maintenance.
