KBR Abu Dhabi is currently seeking an experienced Offshore Marine Specialist to support a major ADNOC project. The role will be site offshore 6/3 Rotation. Job Purpose The Offshore Marine Specialist is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant marine operations in support of offshore oil & gas, renewable energy, marine construction, and subsea projects. The role provides marine expertise for vessel operations, logistics, personnel transfer, cargo handling, towing, anchoring, and offshore installation activities while maintaining compliance with international maritime regulations and company standards. Key Responsibilities Marine Operations Coordinate and supervise offshore marine activities including vessel movements, towing, anchor handling, and cargo transportation. Support offshore installation, construction, drilling, and maintenance operations. Monitor marine operations to ensure adherence to project schedules and operational requirements. Review and approve marine procedures, method statements, and risk assessments. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, and local maritime regulations. Conduct marine assurance reviews and vessel audits. Identify operational risks and recommend mitigation measures. Participate in emergency response planning and incident investigations. Vessel Management Evaluate vessel suitability for offshore projects. Liaise with vessel masters, charterers, contractors, and regulatory authorities. Monitor vessel performance, utilization, and operational readiness. Assist in vessel inspections, mobilizations, and demobilizations. Stakeholder Coordination Act as the primary marine focal point between offshore installations, vessel operators, and project teams. Coordinate logistics related to personnel, equipment, and materials transfer. Support contract management and marine service procurement activities. Reporting & Documentation Prepare marine operation reports, performance metrics, and incident reports. Maintain accurate records of marine activities and compliance documentation. Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Maritime Studies, Ocean Engineering, or related discipline. Certificate of Competency (Master Mariner, Chief Officer, Marine Engineer, or equivalent) preferred. Relevant offshore survival certifications such as BOSIET, HUET, and offshore medical certification. Valid STCW certifications. Experience Minimum 17 years of marine industry experience. Experience supporting offshore oil & gas, marine construction, offshore wind, or subsea operations. Hands-on experience with offshore support vessels (OSVs), anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels, construction vessels, or drilling units. Experience in marine assurance and vessel audits is preferred. Technical Competencies Offshore marine operations management. Vessel suitability assessments.
