Take ownership by leading complex projects As an electrical engineer, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary project team within our product development department and work closely with project managers. You will be responsible for developing complex electronic circuits designed for use in downhole drilling tools under extreme environmental conditions. In this role, you will strengthen our power and pulser team by developing advanced motor drives and high-power-density switching power supplies for high-temperature downhole applications. Your responsibilities will span the entire life cycle of electronic design, including requirement specification, architecture design, simulation, implementation, verification & validation, and documentation. As Electrical Design Engineer – Power Electronics you will be responsible for: Circuit design of power electronic modules, including mixed-signal circuitry. Develop power electronics modules, including motor drives and switching power supplies. Perform simulations using Matlab/Simulink to validate control algorithms for the power electronic modules. Support of the PCB layout. Test and characterization of electronic circuits at high ambient temperature. Development of test systems including hardware and software. Qualification of electronic components for high temperature applications. Complete documentation for new product developments and presentation of development results in design reviews to complete milestones in the technology development process. To be successful in this role you will: Above-average university degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with the focus on power electronics. Practical experience in circuit- and system design of power electronics, gathered during internships, thesis and/or professional experience in the above area of responsibility. Experience and knowledge in the field of power electronics topologies, in particular various voltage converters and control systems for electrical machines Knowledge of the new technologies of power electronic components such as wide band-gap devices (GaN or SiC). Knowledge in the area of measurement and control engineering. Experienced in handling modern electronic laboratory equipment.
