Let me tell you about the role! The Packaging Engineer will be responsible for supporting and executing packaging development projects across sustainability, cost saving, innovation, new product introduction, quality improvement, mold development, packaging qualification & create /modify SOP. The role will ensure that packaging components are fit for purpose, aligned with global standards, qualification protocols and business requirements. The role will work closely with PU procurement teams, plants operation, suppliers, quality, supply chain, marketing and global packaging procurement teams to deliver local and global packaging technical projects. It will also support global packaging agenda and contribute to packaging technical projects across regions as required. What will you deliver? Packaging Development & Innovation Support development and execution of packaging projects for new product introduction, pack changes, innovation and business growth initiatives. Work with internal customers and packaging suppliers to develop packaging designs, materials and specifications that meet business, operational and technical requirements. Support evaluation of new packaging materials, formats, suppliers and technologies aligned with global packaging standards. Sustainability Projects Support packaging sustainability agenda including PCR implementation, recyclable packaging, lightweighting, material reduction and circular packaging solutions. Work with suppliers and internal teams to identify and qualify sustainable packaging alternatives. Support execution of sustainability projects in line with local regulatory requirements and global packaging priorities. Cost Saving & Value Engineering Identify and support packaging cost-saving opportunities through alternate materials, design optimization, supplier development and process improvement. Conduct technical feasibility evaluations for cost-saving ideas without compromising packaging quality, performance or compliance. Support procurement teams with technical inputs for sourcing and supplier-related initiatives. Mold Development & Qualification Coordinate mold development, modification and qualification activities for bottles, caps, closures, pails and other packaging components. Review packaging drawings, 2D/3D designs, artwork-related technical inputs and packaging specifications. Support mold trials, sample evaluation, dimensional checks and final qualification asper Global Test Protocols (GTP) before commercial implementation. Packaging Qualification & Validation Prepare and implement packaging qualification plans in line with Global Qualification Protocols. Conduct and support packaging performance testing, filling trials, line trials, transit trials and storage trials. Analyse trial results and prepare clear technical reports with recommendations for approval or improvement. Ensure packaging qualification documentation is properly maintained. Quality Improvement & Issue Resolution Support investigation of packaging quality issues reported from plants, markets, suppliers or customers.
