Our client (North Sea operator) is currently recruiting for the position of Reservoir Engineer based in Aberdeen. This is a PAYE contractor role. Purpose of Role: Reservoir Engineer within the UKBU Operated by Others multi-disciplinary subsurface team. Deliver opportunities for production enhancement and resource additions by influencing the operator and joint venture partners, underpinned by robust subsurface technical work Responsible for multiple assets across the OBO portfolio Critical Responsibilities: Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and company HSES Procedures Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities: Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with company’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence: Provide subsurface decision support for non-operated assets, framing key decisions, identifying critical uncertainties and providing clear recommendations to management. Provide independent technical assurance and challenge of operator evaluations, focusing on uncertainties and assumptions material to value and decision quality. Develop and maintain a company technical position through integrated subsurface evaluation. Build technical alignment between company, operators and co-venturers to enable effective decision making and maximise value to company. Define and deliver reservoir engineering work programs in support of business strategy across multiple assets. Identify, mature and influence the operator to deliver opportunities for production enhancement and resource growth . Maintain production forecasts in support of mid and long term business plans Mentoring junior staff Interface and leverage technical expertise to influence subsurface team priorities and work programs. Represent company at external joint venture workshops, subsurface workgroups and technical committee meetings Daily tasks include: Development of technical recommendations to support subsurface, asset and investment decisions Generation of production forecasts to support key business decisions using the appropriate tools e.g. analogue, DCA, material balance, simulation models Review, challenge and assurance of operator reservoir engineering evaluations and recommendations Analysis and integration of production, pressure, fluid and surveillance data to identify opportunities, risks and key uncertainties Evaluation of production enhancement and new well opportunities. Reserves assessments. Monitoring and assisting with specialists and contractors to manage reservoir engineering projects. Reservoir engineering input to internal and external business approvals, partner engagements and technical committee meetings. Sharing knowledge. The postholder may be required to join the emergency response rota should this become a requirement of the position. Critical Skills, Qualifications, Experience, etc.: Core Technical Experience Fully developed technical skill set Expertise in delivering complex reservoir engineering projects incorporating uncertainty. Expert in several anchor skills. Thoroughly understands technology and how it supports the business. Expertise in different aspects of reservoir engineering e.g. field development, simulation, material balance, pressure transient analysis, fluid properties, decline curve analysis, reserve evaluations. Identifies, develops, executes and evaluates business opportunities Experience of critically reviewing and assuring technical evaluations Demonstrated ability to influence technical and business decisions across multidisciplinary teams and joint venture environments Ability to integrate subsurface, wells, facilities, operational and commercial considerations into technical recommendations. Sound working knowledge of industry software packages Qualifications MSc in reservoir engineering or a related subject.
